It was the right call; a great acting job on a pretty weak arm extension... Anytime the arm is extended by the receiver it's considered a push-off; sometimes they're called, sometimes not...

It was the right call. What makes it worse to take is the great flop by the defender.

I didn't watch the entire game. I knew (as you guys did too) once bad Drew showed up early it was going to be a long day. And it was.

Fact is we just aren't as good as the top teams this year.

Top receivers rarely get that call. JG gets no respect from the league and he made them a lot of money. Banned dunking, cheap shots that are alowed without in game consequences, lack of obvious defensive pass interference calls... Fu** the NFL!

We would have won if defenders didn't leave receivers uncovered on 4th and forever or if Brees stopped throwing into triple coverage.

2. Brees pick after whiners sack/fumble inside the 10 before halftime.

3. Defense letting whiners convert 4th & 10

I hate the loss as bad as anyone but Graham clearly shoved that guy down. There was no acting involved.

The 49ers didn't deserve this game. The Graham play was borderline at best, but if you really look at that play you can see that Jimmy had position in the first place and would have had the catch no matter what. If he doesn't touch the guy, we win. But there was the horrible drop by Colston, and the tons of ridiculous blunders by Brees. I know Boldin dropped some passes, but only one of them was really significant. On the others, there was a defender there getting hs hand on the ball as well. We just flat blew it countless times.

While the boys played less than stellar, how many times do refs get involved on a Hail Mary pass to end a game. Rarely. Most refs want to get home safely. Refs SHOULD NEVER make those calls. And in most cases that is their belief as well. But we might as well suck it up and play on. Still loving my Saints.

The bad thing is with his size and position, along with the perfect throw from Brees, he really didn't have to push off at all to make the play.

Can someone explain to me why the 49ers we're able to snap the ball while their o linemen were moving around on that 4th and 10 play? The guard actually stood up and was turned around talking to Kap when the ball was snapped and no flag was thrown. Is there a certain rule on that that I don't know about? Are they allowed to do that as long as the linemen aren't "set" ?

We lsot the game though for the same reason we lost to them at Candlestick in 2011 and lost to the Seahawks last year, We make toomany stupid errors and dig a massive hole and have to climb out of before we are in games. It happens to often to be bad luck. The turnovers are killing us in the big games.

given the rules and how they are enforced, I dont see how their aint more Defensive PI on Hail marys. Some how Graham gets called for offensive PI, sounds a little like a pile of BS, especially given how ticky tack it was. I will give it to the officiating crew though that they called it straight most of the game, but they had their moments, I cant help but think the Brees Fumble would of been incomplete pass had it been Manning or Brady.

Jimmy shoved that defender more than anquan shoved Corey white and we got the call then, it was the correct call

Graham didn't need to push off, the ball fell straight to him.

I guess it would look obvious from the stands when the defender throws himself to the ground like a basketball player trying to draw a charge. He put his hands on the guy, but that is VERY common on hail mary's, yet the one time we complete one, it's flagged.

I'd be a hypocrite if I complained about the Graham call. Because it annoyed the hell outta me when Michael Irvin made a career out of pushing off receivers and it never got called.

We got screwed alright, but you're blaming the wrong guys. We got screwed by Drew Brees the turnover machine. As far as the PI goes it was absolutely the right call. Should that DB win an Oscar YES, but it was still a push off. The sad part is I didn't think he needed to push off.

Sorry it was not the right call. What are the odds of them throwing a defensive pass interference in that situation. The answer is zero percent. If there is no way they would've called it on the defense then that was not enough in my opinion to throw the flag. There is no way it should've been 14 to 0 when we are at home either though. Roger and them can hate all they want because we still win the division and just might get our revenge on SF when it truly counts.

Yea that theory gets thrown around a lot but in reality a lot of games come down to one play. That's the parody in the game today. Just like getting into the playoffs can come down to just one loss.

It also takes some luck. The Falcons won 11 games and the South a couple years back and most of it was luck and games that come down to one play.

Hell in 2009 we had the ball bounce our way a couple of times.

To say a game shouldn't come down to one play sounds nice and all but in reality many games do come down to one play.

You're an LSU fan like me, obviously, so let me use lastnight as an example. On the last play of the game (which wasn't even a hail mary, but it was a desperation type of pass) Jennings throws it up and our receiver is getting run over by two guys, but because it is perceived as a jump ball by the refs, there was no flag. And that didn't surprise me, for that very reason. I expect that.

What Jimmy did was not nearly as egregious, and in fact, it was barely anything. And the fact that he clearly had position on the guy, I'd like to think a ref could use a little discretion in that situation, regardless of it being a hail mary or any other play. Your assessment seems based on technicality rather than the football play that it was. You gotta let them play sometimes, and that is undeniably a time where refs usually do. But they didn't, and that is very upsetting.

But it is not the only reason we lost, and I think we all realize that. But you know if anyone blames it on Drew they can't possibly be a real Saints fan in the eyes of many on this board. And if we blame it on Colston's drop, then we're just picking on a good ol' boy who is too nice to deserve criticism for yet another pitiful performance. Nobody is ever happy with any sort of analytical view point around here.

we screwed the pooch and did everything we could to get blown out of that game.

but we hung in their against a team that tried to do the same. definitely not a niners "A" game out there either.

we lost because we did not play well enough to win. that was a game, we should have won this one easily.

All I'm going to say about the call is that yes Jimmy touched him on his back yet he fell and landed on his back. If Jimmy's push is that hard he should have fell face first not be able to turn his body and land on his back. It's a call that is hardly ever made on the last play of the game.

Jimmy can claim two finders all he wants but its pretty obvious he was running for the ball and blatantly reached out to the side and put his hand on the DB's shoulder and pushed him. I don't think there was a need for it at all even.
