Here's what scares me the most:

We apparently have a coaching staff incapable of learning from the past.

All freaking game: Anquon Boldin (Sp?) is running free but you continue trying fancy pants sneaky defenses instead of jamming him off the line and punching him in the mouth (metaphorically).

Overtime: 3rd and 2, a RB who has just run for 100 yards, and you call for a pass.

Overtime: Completely abandon the run but don't max protect so they can send the house after our crummy OL and Drew gets a beat down and fumbles.

And this is not the first game this has happened, this is the norm. And it has been for at least the past two years.

I just don't get it.

Coverage scares me; I'm lumping the whole secondary in with Vaccaro here, Lewis the exception...

Our team has serious issues that continue to haunt us every week

Payton may be the best coach we've had, but we watch our team fail at the same things every week and that starts with him

Doesn't help when Brees throws into triple coverage or Kenny Vaccaro and Corey white both decide to leave a receiver open 50 yards down field on 4th and 10.

The difference is Kaep turned the ball over once, Brees turned it over 3 times - twice inside our own 30 yard line and once in the opponents red zone

Kaepernick may have stalled, but he didn't force any passes and SF played the field position game knowing eventually their defense will come through for them.

I voted Brees dropping back, I know int.'s are going to happen but let any player other than Brees turn the ball over that much and he's either benched(yes Payton has a doghouse) or he's a gone pecan!! Maybe a good benching to give a little reflection wouldn't hurt. I would like to see what Griffin can do at least a good look.

I had to vote Drew as well. Floating it out to the flats, throwing into triple coverage, trying to extend a play and doing something dumb. It really is more than I can handle stress wise speaking. Second place was Graham although he has put a decent streak together.

Empty backfield on 2nd and 2 when the running game is working.

Brees is a phenomenal player who does mess up at times but has carried this team for so long. He is a leader, a captain, and the face of this franchise, and you just don't bench somebody like that. To be honest, I read in another post that he was booed in the SF game and I don't think that was right. He is not a flop or lazy and prepares more than anybody on that team. He is an ultimate competitor and his mistakes bother him just as much if not more than it does us. One of his downfalls is he panics under pressure and tries to do too much. Give that man some good protection and watch what he can do. Hell, just go back and watch the Green Bay game. To expect him to be phenomenal without good protection is like trying to have sex on sleeping pills....you might get the job done, but you'll be sloppy and inconsistent and theres a good chance you wont finish strong.
