Saints CB Keenan Lewis: 'If I can walk, I'm going'
NEW ORLEANS -- Keenan Lewis pointed out the startling difference between his two knees to reporters as he hobbled through the New Orleans Saints’ locker room Sunday night. He described the normal one as a “cornerback’s knee” and the massively swollen one as a “lineman’s knee.”
Lewis still didn’t know the full extent of the damage, though, as he said an MRI was planned for Monday. [+] EnlargeKeenan Lewis Chuck Cook/USA TODAY SportsKeenan Lewis said he's determined to play next week despite suffering a knee injury against the 49ers. “I’ll find out tomorrow, but it definitely don’t feel good,” Lewis said after the Saints' 27-24 overtime loss to the San Francisco 49ers. “I’ll try to speed up this recovery process so I can play next week.” Losing Lewis for any stretch would be a severe blow to the Saints. He might be as hard to replace as any player outside of quarterback Drew Brees -- both because he's been playing at such a high level for the past two years as their No. 1 corner, and because the rest of the Saints' corners have been so erratic. (However, it should be noted that the Saints' defense -- and replacement cornerback Patrick Robinson, in particular -- did play very well after Lewis suffered the injury.) As Lewis proved Sunday, he’ll do whatever it takes to get back on the field next week against the Cincinnati Bengals. New Orleans Saints CB Keenan Lewis: 'If I can walk, I'm going' - ESPN |

Keenan is a monster. Love his grit. I don't think we'll need him against Dalton though. I saw them play the Browns. If you want to see truly ****ty QB play -- watch Andy Dalton. Yeah, you'll be lovin' some Drew Brees when you get a load of Dalton. Ugh.

They did all of those things against us We find ways to lose when teams' top players are out (Josh Gordon, Megatron, Patrick Willis) We'll hear all week how Dalton is struggling and he'll be pin point against us. |

Outside of New Orleans and surrounding areas, K Lewis is the best corner back no one talks about. Heart and determination of a lion.
Anyone has an injury update on his knee/quad? |

+1 no doubt. After that terrible showing on Thursday night, I expect them to throw everything they have at us in the dome ... just like the 49ers did.
Brees has to be almost perfect for us to win. We win the TURNOVER battle - we win the game. |

Actually that's Ingram's game. They can't defend the run. It will open up play action...

I know I have been tough on Brees this season, and while I place most of the blame on his shoulders for some of our closes losses I still think he can turn it around. However, if Lewis ends up going down for the season I am not sure we have anyone to replace him.
White has been better over the last few weeks but the 51-yd bomb was the story of his season so far, and we got picked on a lot against Boldin. Robinson scares me in a starting role. Dixon really is our only shot at replacing Lewis. We'll find out today I guess. |

Brees doesn't need to be perfect, he just needs to be slightly better than average.

We cannot be without Keenan lewis, the toughness he showed yesterday should have inspired the whole team. He broke up two third down conversions when he was running on one leg. |
