No we won't.
Brees will restructure but that just screws us further down the line

If we cut the following players we will be paying them to play elsewhere

Colston - $5.4ml
Evans - $5ml
Lofton - $5ml

We are well over the cap and still need to get Cam under contract,we have Ingram without a deal and Robinson in the last year of the deal.
The year after the dead money on alot of contracts opens up the chance to cut older players

We have two turnover machines on the team

One of them in a bad way - Brees
The other in a sarcastic way - Jairus Byrd

And we're going to be paying Brees 23-26 mil to watch him throw into triple coverage.

Cooks is on an inexpensive rookie deal and has the potential to be a number one receiver.

Ingram > Cam at this point.

Love Cam (look at avatar), but the guy needs to be consistent and right now the only people he is beating are UDFAs and other band-aid tackles.

Two, we just moved up in the first round of the past draft at the expense of an add'l pick, third rounder...

Three, we've got major holes to fill on the offensive line and yet to find 34 linebackers for our new, yet-installed, 34 defense...

Fourth, we've got to decide and have cap space for our starting defensive ends which makes Galette's deal a head scratcher...

Fifth, the only way we're getting a complementary CB to Keenan Lewis is free agency as the FO has shown a complete inability to assess and draft one...

Not to mention that we're gonna have to release some players in the final year of their contract and they'll need replacement...

Committing that much cap space to a few individuals?!? Haven't we learned our lesson yet?!?

We've got enough weapons at the offensive skill position with only one ball to throw per play...

How are you gonna find him enough targets to justify signing him to what you'll sign him for...

Our scouts are bad. Sometimes Payton pulls these guys more than the scouts do. I think we have to start looking in the conferences that produce NFL talent such as SEC, ACC, and Big 12(RBs, WRs, pass rushers). Arizona and Stanford produce NFL talent as well in the Pac 12. I think Ohio State may be better now than I thought with Meyer. Because with Tressel they produced NFL busts. Or maybe they did not want to play for us(Jenkins). But Roby and Hyde are doing well when given the chance. If we get anyone outside of these conferences and schools we are taking chances. Sedrick Ellis and Fortt came from pac 12's highly loved USC and UCLA. And neither worked out for us. I mean I'm talking NFL ready not needing development. Fortt may be good a few years from now but he is not NFL ready.

Then Brees needs to start targeting him more. We need more talent though. One isn't enough. I don't buy Stills, Meachem, Morgan and thats the rest of our main receiving core. I wouldn't mind drafting Ted Griffey or Jeremy Langford, players that won't go first round if they declare. We have no shot at Cooper.

Until our O-line gets fixed we could have Jones, Fitzgerald, Bryant or any of them, it want matter. On the D until we get a NT that pushes and commands double and triple teams with an ILB that plays the run and passing downs well, we will get gashed up the middle. We also need quality depth at most positions, we don't have to many positions like that. We need alot to be honest, to much.

We don't need a true Number one at WR.

We haven't had a true number one. Why start now.

I don't think we're as bad off as it sounds. OG's and OC's aren't difficult to get.

We do need another WR and a big fast target similar to Julio would fit perfectly.

We don't have that many glaring holes, but we can certainly use a few upgrades at LB, CB, OG and WR. Our problems this year looked more mental than they did physical. We have a very talented team.

I agree in some aspects but a stud C isn't easy to find that comes cheap unless drafted ,OG's either.Totally agree about a Jones type(physical WR) but I think our D front line is more of a concern( got to stop points from being score) a stud NT and lb, that are studs will be needed there. CB I believe we can find 1 in FA that can be a true #2. We also have to have solid depth for rotation and if any started goes down. On the O-line that is a real problem, this years draft is going to be key to a great year, last years was not impressive, Cooks(who I do like) is not a Bryant or Jones type(physical) and to me fits the slot more than a big go to WR that can muscle their way into position, he relise on speed and cutting ability which he does do that well but a 1st and a 3rd givin up, no. Unless a lightbulb comes on in SJB's head soon a 2nd was way high not saying it was a bad pick but with a team trying to win now that pick was a win now pick. I could ramble for awhile about other things those are my mains for the moment.I believe it all starts in the trenches and thats where we need to start with picks and FA.
