Saints should be embarrassed by ugly performance vs. Bengals
 

I've tried to paint an optimistic picture of the Saints' season all year but there's no amount of lipstick that will dress up this pig. The Saints were awful in every phase and looked flat from the outset. Considering the circumstances, this was an embarrassing performance and deserved the boos Saints fans delivered throughout the second half.

I've done my best to keep it positive. Frankly, there has always been positives to draw, but today??

Our Offense let us down again. Our secondary is hurt. Lewis is HURT. Vacarro had a bad injury last year. Our offense should realize this and know that we have to SCORE points to win a game when all the guys are healthy. When our Secondary is down to fumes our Offense should be in hyper mode to put points on the board. Don't miss the obvious...OUR OFFENSE and $100M QB let us down.

Come on offense?
What's the point? If you give the ball back to the defense and they convert majority of 3rd downs.... what's the point??

7 series - 10 points. Pitiful performance at home. Yes our Defense is terrible but if our offense puts some points on the board it actually may help our defense.

Plenty of injuries on the offensive side as well. Can't be used as an excuse.

And we STILL have that Linebacker coach who thought Scott Shanle was a STARTER.

Sean Payton is no offensive genius. Cannot even manage a clock.

And the sickest thing about all this is that our CRAPPY division is going to keep teasing us that we might make the playoffs.

This team currently doesn't deserve to even be allowed to watch the playoffs on TV!!!


Watch out next week - the entire NFC South is likely to lose again. 6-10 makes the playoffs - even the Bucs have hope!!!

The top 10 pick we will probably get if we dont make the playoffs will be more beneficial than going and getting a pasting in a wild card or divisional game

It was the first time this season that I have heard the Saints radio commentators say that the team looked "Uninterested" and "Lethargic".

Not sure what to draw from that statement but I wonder if all is well behind the scenes.

The Dome used to be a place that teams would not look forward to visiting but I'm now guessing the Ravens must be rubbing their hands and licking their lips at the prospect of giving the Saints another possible loss!

Never easy being a Saints fan but I will always be one thats for sure. Just don't see where the next win will come from though!!!

You will not score tons of points when in order to do so you have to sustain 14+ play drives...you simply wont....period...not even Manning and Brady. We have to figure out a way to make big plays in the passing game...

The long run allowed at the end of the first half was inexcusable. But other than that the defense wasn't that bad until late when they were out of gas. Out of gas because we can't move the ball.

You know as well as the rest of us how much money is invested in this offense. They are SUPPOSED to carry us, while we hope for the best from our D. They have failed for the vast majority of the season to do so.

How is making a point starting an argument? You are an overgrown child, man. third down's are a meaningless statistic if you're keeping your opponent off the scoreboard. You can go 2-3 on third down on a single drive and not score. As long as you aren't giving up huge plays, you have a chance to get stops. It was a low scoring affair for the majority of the first three quarters before it got away. Our defense didn't have any rest the whole game. Did they play great? No. Did they give up a couple of ridiculous plays? Yes. But we kind of expect that, don't we? Likewise, we expect the offense to do something, which they emphatically did not do.

You want to know how much third down means? We were 8-13.... didn't feel like it, did it? Know why? Because we didn't do anything to follow up those conversions, just as was the case for the Bengals much of the time, only they made a couple big plays and we just never answered.

That may be the point the team as a whole went south but this offense started to slide after the 49ers playoff loss in 2011.
