short answer:
Saints had a long drive that fizzled out at the 1 yard line. Instead of taking the sure points with the field goal and making it a 7-6 game, Payton went for it. We predictably got stuffed. Then the defense gave up a long drive for the Bengals. That was pretty much the ballgame. I knew when Payton went for it, it had massive potential to backfire on us. And it did. |
