Coleman. We need someone right now with something to prove.

Re: WR Depth Chart

Activate Coleman or Jones. I'd like to see Coleman play. Colston had drops in almost every game. It won't be end of the world if Coleman plays and makes few rookie mistakes. He might be better than people think.

Hate to say it but I think Payton activates Toon.

He fits perfectly in this team with no heart and desire.

At least we're getting Joe Morgan back in the mix. That's at least worth another 7 yards on a dink and dunk play.

Get Coleman out there.

Why do you say that? Because he dropped a couple of balls last year?

I get a general "lack of motivation" impression about Toon. I'm sure I'm wrong and he's super motivated to make plays but I just don't see them happening.

Could be a matter of being buried on the depth chart, but if so why hasn't he risen from a pile of so-so's??

Might be talent? I've seen nothing to warrant saying he lacks heart and desire.

I'd like to see Coleman getting some reps. As for Tune..........I think I've given up on him separating himself from the rest of the pack.

Re: WR Depth Chart

Toon, like Patrick Robinson seem to be HOF training camp players, that for whatever reason doesn't translate to game days. I say use Morgan and Coleman. Toon is as un-clutch as anyone on this team, and thats saying something with our sorry defense...

I know Colston hasn't performed this season -- but did you see that 'toe drag swag'? I did. Is Colston back?

Gotta be talent. Thought he may break out after being "buried" behind Moore and Meachem but we drafted Stills and Cooks to start ahead of him.

I'd like to see Coleman, Colston, and Graham running routes at the same time. Quite the mismatches I'd say :bng:

Re: WR Depth Chart

Coleman is listed at what, 6'6"? Maybe they can all run curl routes and form a human wall for Stills.

The defenders would key on Graham every time because neither Colston nor Coleman can catch a pass. They would drop every single pass attempt thrown their way.

Dude can't catch. Had a horrible camp and lacks focus. Didn't see much of anything from him even on special teams. Good luck with that one.

Re: WR Depth Chart

Toon may legitimately have regular season anxiety issues. He seems to be a monster-beast in training camps and seems to play decent enough in preseason. Then dude gets in a regular season game and just craps himself consistently.

Pretty sure we'll see way more of Morgan now, though, rather than Looney Toon-ey.

Right and you know this how? Colston has been the most prolific receiver the Saints have had, ever! And Coleman dropped a few passes in the preseason, I'm sure he hasn't progressed any. And if he couldn't catch, he wouldn't have had the college career he had.

negativity makes you wonder why some fans still hang around

Yeah colston has been the most prolific receiver in saints history

But he's not that guy this season and seems to be dropping more passes than he catches every week

As stated, Coleman not only dropped passes all training camp, he did it in preseason aswell with passes bouncing off his helmet....no thanks

What's your solution then? Sign a scrap free agent who won't know the play-book well enough to play for the next two weeks? No thanks...

Or let Toon the receiver who has been on the team for triple the time of Coleman without seeing time get snaps? No thanks...

I don't have a solution, that's Payton's job

He'll probably activate Toon, nothing we can do

You don't have a solution, but quick to criticize mine...

Looking for any opening to be negative, eh?

Wasn't criticising, just saying that neither Colston or Coleman can be trusted because they both have issues catching the ball. Take it as you want.

We have much greater needs than drafting a receiver in the first round... O-Line and ILB depending on what comes of Hawthorne/Lewis after this year

Re: WR Depth Chart

I'd make him the slot...it would be like having two tight ends...I mean he was a tight end originally in his career.

Re: WR Depth Chart

As far as I can remember, Toon played exceptional in the preseason last year & summer camp this year. He only played in one regular season game that I can recall at wr that he did played poorly (that is saying kindly as possible) I believe he deserve that chance to see if he can produce now, so we can weigh our options in the draft

Cruize 11-18-2014 08:27 AM

Re: WR Depth Chart

Lots of snaps at WR for Graham. Heck, Payton will probably call a reverse or two for him.

Mardigras9 11-18-2014 10:39 AM

Re: WR Depth Chart

At home, Colston and Graham need big games. If Ingram can get it going, I think our prime time offense shows up. Maybe the injury to Cooks simplifies the offensive game plan.

Re: WR Depth Chart

all i see is a bunch of players that can replaced. our WR corp has been over rated for a few years now, Drew can only cover up so much.

Re: WR Depth Chart

Jason Avant is out there now that Carolina has released him. Worth a look?

Beastmode 11-18-2014 12:30 PM

Re: WR Depth Chart

Right now we are down to one strong passing option and he's not even a WR. PT and Cooks were able to Freebreeze the situation but not anymore.

Cruize 11-18-2014 01:14 PM

Re: WR Depth Chart

Play Toon or cut him. Bring in Coleman for a look to see if he can be a player next year. Colston is done. The big salary and inconsistent hands along with all the hits has the writing on the wall. Cooks is a situational guy. A good one. Just not a #1. I understood the pick but would rather have had Matthews. Stills is hot and cold. Another situational guy with less talent than Cooks. Morgan is clearly a head case. The offesne needs new blood at G, RT, RB and WR really badly next year. Which is a bad sign for a defense so lacking. Unless the Saints shock me and go on a run, it's time to blow it up.

dizzle88 11-18-2014 03:36 PM

Re: WR Depth Chart

We have so many needs at tons of positions

At WR we really need a true number 1, like Sammy Watkins
A guy that can consistently beat one on one coverage and make the big play

Other than cooks and Graham, we just have a bunch of underachievers and Jekyll/Hyde players

Saintsfan4ever 11-18-2014 11:53 PM

Re: WR Depth Chart

Where is Andy Tanner? put him on the field! I'd rather see some passion than another Colston clone that can't get open.

No, if the Panthers dont want him with the state of there WR then he isnt good enough for us.

Oh I agree, but with Sean Payton you just never know. Our biggest need is someone who can get to the QB consistently.
