Mixed reviews on Kenny Vaccaro's comments; Payton likes his passion
METAIRIE, La. -- New Orleans Saints safety Kenny Vaccaro was outspoken about his growing frustrations after Sunday's 27-10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Among other topics, Vaccaro said the Saints' defensive chemistry hasn't been the same this season after losing so many veterans in the offseason and that he's been "embarrassed" by how undisciplined the Saints look on defense. Saints linebacker and captain Curtis Lofton said he doesn't think such frustrations should be handled through the media. "He's not the only player that feels that way, and there's been numerous guys that have expressed the same feelings. But there's a different type of way of doing it," Lofton said. "That's how it's been handled in the past, and that's how it needs to be handled in the future, too." Read more: Mixed reviews on Kenny Vaccaro's comments; Payton likes his passion - ESPN |

After all the fan comments after the game about how none of the players seam to "care" or how they have just "given up", it's nice to see players take a stand and try to negate that belief.

Only way I'll believe they truly care is if they show it on the field. |

bingo. the biggest issue raised it's ugly head in the middle of last year when Greer went down. we did nothing to address the issue in the off season. so far i have not seen it. that is the issue with our secondary. no true CB to start opposite Lewis. |

Re: Mixed reviews on Kenny Vaccaro's comments; Payton likes his passion
It's great to see ANY passion about the game and profession from ANY player on this team because Sunday they looked about as passionate and stimulated as eunuch in a whore house.
Talk may be cheap but it's AMAZING that he is the ONLY player on the team who is neanderthal enough to be totally ticked off and embarrassed by his, and his teams', performance. This team lacks testosterone! |

We are going to see alot of shots down the field if the Saints can't correct their mistakes out there. I'm still optimistic, but it looks like best case scenario will be a number 6 seed in the playoffs. Not going to hold my breath for that one. Also, if Drew Brees doesn't get the protection he needs up front and their run game doesn't improve its going to be ugly over the next 6 games.
