The news is out. Beat the Saints by literally "beating on the Saints".

I'm not complaining, just wish we'd be the aggressor more often.

Tired of physical teams like SF, STL, BAL, SEA, NYJ beating us every year.

Makes me wonder if SP's guys do more "thinking" than playing all game.

How 'bout "physical enough"? Tough Enough was a cheesy Dennis Quaid film in the '80s ... you wouldn't think someone would know an uninteresting, unimportant tidbit/funfact like that, but when you unsubscribe from cable and go full "rabbit ears", you get to see all kinds of cinematic flops that you wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy, :lol:.

I do not want the Saints doing cheap shots, illegal hits , and things like that . The game is not that.
I would, yes, like to see some tackles. Legit tackles. Some hustle , fast running out there. What is it with Saints doing a light jog and reaching out to tackle someone? NFL is not touch football.

This is exactly what is going on. My cousin the other week after one of our losses were discussing a very similar thing. I told him that our team may have the IQ to build a space ship to the Moon but forget on Sundays that football also requires you to line up and beat up the guy in front of you. We don't do that. We get beat up instead.

I listen to some of Payton's post game pressers.

What I glean from his words is that his view of the game is so "situational" and based on so many factors that it's downright confusing.

Far be it from me to criticize because, hey, who am I right? But damn man - it seems like any team who lines up to kick our teeth in DOES it.

Beat up the line with 4-5 rushers. Limit Brees to short throws and they'll stall in the red zone OR turn it over.

OK I get it, it's football... (never mind the point of emphasis stuff) not tiddlywinks...
But what's worse, is Graham just took it.
He just backed down.
I don't want the guy to get into a fight and get kicked out of the game, but at some point he has to start defending himself.
A few plays later, Iloka takes a shot.
This time a flag, but still no response form Graham.
And what's even worse is no one else form the team came to his defense either.
Listen, Jimmy Graham has played hurt for most of this season. He's earned a lot more respect from me this season. But, there is a difference between being able to stand pain and not letting someone steal your bike.

the team and the fans all seem to have come complacent with winning and just expect it.

The fans performance as the 13th man has been poor. then again since the super bowl it has been heading south. got fat and lazy with victory

The fans buying into to press clippings is standard stuff. But to the extent of this year was unreal.

Fans bought into this great turn around when all Rob did was undo what Spags screwed up. Hell a one eyed tailless monkey could have done that.

The defense was sold like a use car. smoke and mirrors. Rob partying New Orleans style does not cut it. All it does is get him fatter.

The offense for the most part has done it's part. the defense is not worth the paper it is written on. Players to blame? yes and no.

The bulk of the issue rest on ROB RYAN shoulders.

Rob got away with murder in my book. this defense has been heading south since teams figured it out last year. new england laid out the blue print.

Robs answer?

nothing at all. no adjustments. nothing.

Just a ton of his draft picks collecting splinters on the bench. Hell Spags at least added players that see the field.

Lack of adjustments to a system that does not work effects players. both on the offense and the defense. wonder how many think to themselves "oh god here we go again."

So are we tough enough? maybe not. but are the players fed up and tired might be the right question to ask.

best friends do not always make the best bosses.

We are no better off than the cowboys of a few years back. uniforms have change but the story remains the same.

I will be watching the game as I have since the saints were birthed. I have only missed a hand full of games in my life time. I will be yelling and screaming at the TV like a fool and even throwing things at from time to time. thank Donna for that foam saints brick you gave me years ago. gods knows the TVs i might have wrecked.

I never give up hope and always trying to figure out a way to win it no matter how bad things look. my Pats friends just laugh at me.

I am the stupid fan standing alone screaming when all goes silent. More than once that was me in the dome. Next time i am home that will be me again.

Yeah, that's where I'm going when I suggest it's more about physicality than toughness ... I'm pretty sure they're all tough enough, they just got to get a little more "in your face" maybe ... and as far as work-outs go, I'd just stick a finger down my throat & call it day before I attempt one of those, :lol:.

I like the Byrd signing but the dollar amount? i would not have done that deal. Jr contract? yes i am on record for questioning both moves. I still do. we were not and are not just one or two pieces away from another super bowl run.

windows closing and the saints still have not started to reload for the most part.

most of the starters show signs of being tough enough

the coaches and the front office need to come down to earth a bit and get the starters some quality backup that are tough enough. then maybe just maybe you will have a player ready to take over for a starter that is ready to hang up the cleats. right now i do not see a single one ready to compete

Or depth stinks stinks up front.
