Report: Saints’ Brandin Cooks out for season

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Time to make some lemonade. We are the walking wounded. Give some of those kids the keys to the kingdom and let's see what we've got. No better time than now. Extended tryout! Who wants to be a walk on?...

Extended tryout! Who wants to be a walk on?

True. It's "s**t or get off the pot" time for Toon and Morgan (think he comes back in a week or two)

I'd rather the team wrapped him in ice than rushed him back and risked the chance of a re-break and damaging him long term.
Cooks only turned 21 in September and has 12-15 years as a Saints if healthy.

The front 7 on defense has to step up for the Saints or they won't win another game. The secondary is a bunch of scrubs as it is now. The Bengals made a point of stopping Ingram and Brees couldn't win it in the passing game. With Cooks out, teams will single outside, bump Graham at the line, and bring an extra guy down in the box. It ain't gonna be pretty.

A broken bone takes 3 months to fully heal... No use in risking a re-injury with 2 games left in the season(initial time table)...

This was my fear in drafting Cooks...

I get that it could happen to any player; but a guy his size?!?

Anyways, get well, we need his speed and we need to get him more touches once he's back in the fold...

And not one of our WR's on the PS are ready to move up and handle being on the 53 man roster. Crap!

A broke thumb really has no relevance to his size; can happen to anyone especially receivers...
