this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Hagan, on defense?!? Other than the secondary, we have no talent in the front seven... Hell, I'd argue the backups have more talent than the starters who are only starting because of their salaries......

Re: 2015 draft??
JP, I got to disagree here, not saying your totally wrong but with Hicks and Jordan playing each side of a stud NT that looks like a good mix up front. With Harelson, Lofton, JR. and drafting a stud ILB and another late round swing man for up front(good run-stuffer) I think we will be stong against the run as well as getting pressure on passing downs and with that the secondary could look like All-Pro's. I might look at it a little different than what you look at it but I think 3 players in the draft along with a few good FA and we could have a he!! of a stout 3-4 D. I just don't know if we will draft this way?

The secondary catches alot of grief, but when passers have 4+ seconds to distribute the ball...heads need to roll up front, dlinemen and coach... John Jenkins' injury was probably more serious than Payton would tip his hand and I like his size moving forward; Bunkley's injury, cap hit may necessitate finding a rotation mate at the nose tackle... The only defensive linemen I found displayed any real physical trait was Tyrunn Walker who has the best bull rush out of our defensive ends... And the biggest, unheralded loss on defense had to have been Glenn Foster... Foster not only spelled Jordan, he also brought a different skill set to challenge opposing linemen in addition to his own playmaking... We could move to a 4-3 to keep changing looks when Junior was ineffective... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

If we get someone in there to collapse the pocket on a consistant level we will be much better in about all aspects, still need lb.'s though.
