Re: 2015 draft??

My most recent draft from Fanspeak

Round 1: Shaq Thompson - OLB - Washington
- Does he fit into a 3-4 defense? Not really. But he's a good football player at a position we need an infusion of talent, and he can add some weight and be that edge guy for us.... hopefully

Round 2: Denzel Perrymen - ILB - Miami
-arguably the best ILB in the draft. Good feet, active hands, agile, uses leverage and fast enough to play in coverage. May not have the idlea "height" tho

Round 3: Reese Dismukes - C - Auburn
-Rimington award winner and overall quality center. If he beats out Lelito, then Lelito can play guard and backup the center position

Round 4: Steven Nelson - CB - Oregon State
- Good instincts, fast, tough and plays with a chip on his shoulder like he's the biggest guy on the field. We need toughness and a punishing attitude in our secondary like Seattle. He also had 3 passes deflected in the senior bowl

Round 5: Shaquille Mason - G - Georgia Tech
- comes from a zone blocking scheme but was dominant at the Senior Bowl during the week. If he pans out, the center of the Oline could be Lelito, Dismukes and Mason in the future

Round 6: Stephone Anthony - ILB - Clemson
-fell to the 6th round in my Fanspeak draft and grabbed him up. He gets the job done. Perrymen and Anthony as our future MLBs?

Round 7: John Crockett - RB - North Dakota State
-small school back who racked up 2000+ rushing yards and had 30 receptions. Played in the East-West Shrine game. Good vision, good hands, multi purpose back. And in round 7, can't complain with a potential sleeper

Looks good but I cannot no way shape or form can talk myself into taking Thompson in the 1st( I've tried) I may be totally wrong about the guy and if we take him I hope I am but I would prefer to get a safer draft pick. To me he is all or nothing and to draft him and he fail would set the D back badly.

I wasn't sold on him either, but I've watched some YouTube videos on him and read some analysis and I'm coming around (plus Beasley had already been selected in my draft). He won the Paul Hornung award for most versatile player in the nation, which Odell won last year. Read that he's a team player and great locker room guy, plus great athleticism (played OLB, ILB, Safety and RB last year). Fast, very good in coverage and a student of the game... I've read. All things we want to hear about regarding a football player. And if he's as versatile as they say, Rob Ryan should be able to put him in positions to be successful. If we drafted him, I wouldn't be mad

Anthony in the sixth, not gonna happen...

He's definitely a third rounder, possibly second round, and that's pre-combine...

Fanspeak needs to add:

DE Lynden Trail, Norfolk State (Sr); 6' 7", 260 lbs
OL Cole Manhart, Nebraska-Kearney, (Sr); 6' 5", 304 lbs

to the draftee dBase...
