Wow. This game was classic straight out of 2012....flashes of brilliance, defense can't stop anyone, big clunker Drew interception, Saints were behind the 8 ball for much of the game, things got frantic and desperate at the end, and then a ridiculous drive or two at the end of games. Stats and scoreboard looks kinda okay, but they weren't really ever in it. Not really. This is 2012 all over again, except this time Payton is here and Ryan is in place of Spags. Go figure.

This division is ridiculous, the beginning of the season I had high hopes for this team, now I am hoping we can just win the division. Trade Ingram Jordan, get Reggie bush back in free agency or find a replacement for Sproles in the draft.

It's official...we are a terrible football team. Some only think the Defense sucks however I think it is all phases and all positions. It's all good...we are Saints fans that are just frustrated by this 2014 team.

Can't underestimate what a pick6 does to a teams emotionally. It is a killer play. We feasted on it in 2009. Now it is Drew serving them up.

Every single facet of the game is terrible! Almost nothing worth saving. This will take a long time to fix. O-line needs complete change. Can't do that in one year.

We are witnessing the end of the Payton/Brees era right now. And it's OK, because it had to happen some time. But it sucks anyway. Thought we might have had a few more years of being at least a playoff team.

Starting to feel it really is time to blow this whole team up and start from scratch with a few key young players. We have Jordan, Hicks, Galette, Lewis, Stills, Cooks, Armstead, Vacarro to build around. That's not a bad place to start.

This year is mind-numbingly depressing. I can't believe how far this team has fallen in less than one calendar year.

At least with spags I felt like they were trying. What I saw tonight with the game on the line was as pitiful as u can recall on any level. I was reminded of a high school team clearly overmatched. I mean I just can't understand. These guys are in the freaking NFL.

Amazingly bad. Even worse than a couple years ago, stats be damned. Disgusting that a runner could make it through a group of defenders without being so much as touched. It was so bad it was comical.

Comedy. It's all we have left.

Im not defending Ryan but the issue runs deeper. Since 2011 Williams, Spags, Ryan have all 'failed'. Vitt needs to go as do other coaches.

Hasn't been the same since 2011. Those were the days. Feels like a movie sequel that tries to improve each sequel but is never close to the original, and getting worse!

Everything has gone backwards since.
ST is non existent these days. Im unsure we even have a defense and the offense gets staler and staler each week. Its not even like a good cheese than matures well, more like a bottle of bourbon that's got air in it

Agree. Payton can't seem to pick a D coordinator. It always ends up being an adversarial relationship. This stuff kills team chemistry. Throw in the injuries and this team is in real trouble.

Are any of us surprised? With the exception of some in denial, most of us knew with the lost to the Browns this team was no longer relevant in the 2014 season. It continues to fall apart and crumble. I have no idea if they can win another game this season. This will be Payton's worse season as a head coach. He's got some cleaning to do during the offseason.

In todays salary cap NFL, you cannot afford to overpay a player. Brees is paid like a top 5 player in the league. He will never be that again. Brees-overpaid, Colston-3r or 4th WR now, Jimmy Graham-overpaid, Bird=(whatever, ask Buffalo). Finally, we are one of the few teams in the league with no LSU players. The Cardinals have a bunch and they own the NFL's best record.
