Blow It Up

This season looks like a Ferrari that's blown a head gasket trying to pick up speed.

The fact that we have beaten Carolina , Green Bay and Pittsburgh the way we did says everything about this coaching staff. It shows the potential is more than there , but they can no longer prepare , develop and groom these guys into contenders.

Blow it up though ? Yes , from a coaching standpoint

the universe is in balance. Another standard thread after our loss.

Re: Blow It Up

Somebody else used the word "stagnant" and that's as good a description as I can think of. The team needs a major shake-up this offseason. We can't keep doing the same things we did in 2011 and expect to win. The league changes, the game changes. We have to change too.

Re: Blow It Up

Major overhaul needed

SP has not had this team ready this season, blown out in Dallas, cinci and Carolina games

Late game meltdowns in ATL, Detroit, San Fran games

It all starts with him, RR will probably be fired but SP deserves to be too

I just don't think Benson has the stones to do it

You don't fire a coach like S.P. after one bad season.
He had us in the divisional round last season for Gods sake.
Something has to change for sure but not our head coach. I'm confident he will get this figured out.

Re: Blow It Up

We need to do whatever it takes to rebuild the OLine. I am not sure where to start on Defense.

He should not be calling plays that's for sure, Carmichael should take over those duties

I thought SP would get it figured out early in the season but he looks lost more and more every week

It all started with an easy going, cushy training camp in green brier and our players became lazy

I agree with this wholeheartedly! We have to fix these position coaches and defense....

Contenders don't have new defensive coordinators every year....that should say something!

Re: Blow It Up

Gut the Staff , Cut the fat , Keep Ryan and Payton but give them entirely new Position coaches.

AlaskaSaints 12-07-2014 04:29 PM

Re: Blow It Up

I think it's funny that Sean Payton sends plays in to Drew Brees.
AND puts us in a hurry-up offense down by nearly 40 points.
AND still has confidence in Graham to catch a ball when he needs to and not in garbage time.

This coaching staff is tired.

Re: Blow It Up

It should be remembered that this team has only 2 playoff wins since tge superbowl win.

hagan714 12-07-2014 04:32 PM

Re: Blow It Up

i am not blowing anything up but some really long evaluations need to made.

I am coming to the conclusion though some players were up there in age and they carried contract that caused some cap issues some should have stayed.

The defense has no identity with the last gutting.

We can ill afford yet another major purge.

Also lost to the only team ever to make the playoffs with a losing record.

Re: Blow It Up

I would really like to see this team with new position coaches...

In case no one has noticed...no team has been interested in any of ours....Allen was the last one I can truly remember.

Let's focus on both sides of the line and get some new position coaches in then see what they are capable of...

Re: Blow It Up

we also need to admit that after two long years we are not a team that can pressure anyone with a 3 man rush.

dizzle88 12-07-2014 05:06 PM

Re: Blow It Up

Galette - one trick pony, overpaid loud mouth that cannot back it up
Lofton - occasionsally makes a tackle, still fat and slow
Hawthorne - the "Jason David" of linebackers
Humber - better than all those guys but still not that good

We need playmakers on defense, we need a Luke keuchley, Patrick Willis, navarro bowman type player in the middle and some playmakers on the outside.

spkb25 12-07-2014 05:07 PM

Re: Blow It Up

SP is going no where, he just signed a huge contract. RR, on the other hand, probably is

We need a JV

Harbaugh teams run the ball and play defense two things we just refuse to do. I can't be that far off with suggesting him

Harbaugh's a winner. He's done nothing, but win. So no you're not crazy at all. That said, SP isn't going anywhere because 1. he has won a lot here, and 2 he just signed a huge contract

brees84 12-07-2014 05:46 PM

Re: Blow It Up

That last drive in the SB vs BAL was all about the running game. Especially play calling at the goal line... lol

As bad as our oline has been this year we came into today's game as the number two offense in the league

Re: Blow It Up

SF has ton of picks and they draft well. I give them that. Play calling, not so much.

ILB speed. Another OLB who can run-stop and run himself.

Gallete is plenty fast enough just never heard of keeping containment. Cam Jordan is fast. NT Jenkins and Hicks fast enough for big guys.

Hawthorne should be cut. Don't know why and don't care now, but he misses lots of tackles and runs into the trash to take himself out of the play consistently. Don't coach him. Don't try to fix him. Just cut him.

Lofton should be a backup unless we like making so many tackles well down field. Humber should be cut as he's had enough time to pan out. Draft somebody. FA LBs haven't worked out (except Harylson has hope).

Well, I fear Harbaugh and I'm normally unafraid of any team's new coach.

Harbaugh taking over for ATL or TB would be a disaster for us. He's turned around terrible teams to remake them into top contenders everywhere he's gone.

Hope he goes to Oakland. Not anywhere in NFC South including us. Like someone said, he's a total jerk.

We can only wish to get another "Haralson" at that price.

Yes, shoulda drafted Borland or a LB in the 2nd instead of our CB "with length" and "potential" who still riding the pine. Behind Undrafted FAs who start games in front of him. Ugh.
