I disagree. When has Payton ever benched anyone for quitting on plays? I can't recall it ever happening & if you ask me, it's pretty significant. What makes you think he'd play, much less play a lot?

I really hope Brees was one of the 10 the coach had a talk with. He has done plenty to warrant a little criticism. You can't hold your players to a higher standard than you do your QB. If anything you hold your Qb to a higher standard as the rest of the team. Players need to know that nobody is above getting a pass for poor play and Brees has contributed just as much to our losses as any other player.

Question - if the locker room attitude is as bad as Strief says, does a benching matter to any of these pros when the cash keeps rolling on???

Good, he has sucked all year. Biggest disappointment on the team.

Probably not but it does to someone on their rookie contract. Not many of our D players are locked in, only the good players have long-term deals. Even JR can be cut next year without dead money.

The benching means nothing if he is active on game day, sorry Payton your not fooling anyone by benching him for the first play of the game lol... deactivate him or I call the bluff.

If Kenny has been benched for undisciplined play (as per the reports) does that mean that Junior will be benched next? He should be.

If the rumours of him being a locker room issue are true its a great move. It might just be the slap into reality he needs.

I sure Mike Bell is somewhere thinking ," I got cut for wearing the wrong cleats". Payton needs to rule with an iron fist again. He got alot more respect then than players just quitting on him now.

And here I was thinking that Kenny V was the only one who could actual make a tackle on defense. I'm kind of calling it BS as well.
