Zach Strief: Comments on “unprofessional” performance not directed at Junior Galette | ProFootballTalk

Re: Zach Strief

Let me tell you something right now, he is calling him out, yep. JG needs to STFU and worry about winning, and Zach is right- these dudes think they are good. They're not even looking at the record. Evidenced by JG talking about how much better the replacement are when your record stinks.

After JG comments he just seems like a douche to me....

Did he get called into Payton office.

Zack taking the high road

Someone needs to tell Jr. a few things. One, respect your elders. In this case it's the players who went before.... and won. Two, mouths and egos don't win a damn thing, teams do. You mess up the team and you end up ...... 5 and 8 and home for the holidays.

Well maybe after this past Sunday he'll keep his mouth shut.

I guarantee they were directed at junior, he just didn't want to draw Payton's ire.

I don't care what he said. I never liked this guy, I wish we would part ways with him.

Re: Zach Strief

Jonathan Vilma and Will Smith the “benchmark for leadership and professionalism”

that is what we lost with such a huge turnover on defense.

He's a very cerebral player and he's very sharp. The young 'uns need leadership.

And while we're at it Zach needs to pick up his game too.:bng:

Re: Zach Strief

dude has been beat up all year. plus age might be an issue. i stand by what i said earlier last year before we signed him. Draft a ROT and have Zac play backup swing man for the rest of his time as a saint.

Re: Zach Strief

And make Vilma a LB coach.

That could add 3 or 4 more years to his career.

Depending on the board when we draft a stud left tackle with Armstead moving across isnt a bad idea either.

And probably wouldn't be that expensive neither.

After watching all the moves defenses have made to stop the pass happy NFL that all the rule changes have made.

IMO a true RT is becoming a thing of the past. the elite defense have TREMENDOUS DE/OLB coming at from both sides.

we all know the top ones but the ones i am watching now

OT Ronnie Stanleyis 6-6 315 ND
i am really liking this kid. talk about productive, solid prospect and plenty of upside to boot. he maybe the biggest surprise pick in round 1. top 15? top 10? he is a OT without a doubt. switch him L or R no big deal.

OT T.J. Clemmings 6-5 305 Pitt
Talk about becoming a media darling with a possibility of OG. this is all about upside here. first round? not solid on that. i do like him though.

round 2
OT Ty Sambrailo 6-5 315 Colorado State
here is one to work into a mix. ROT? maybe but sliding inside to guard works also. i really like the way he plays. attitude for start to finish.

round 3
OT Jake Fisher, Oregon. i have talked him up already. he works well as part of a unit. switches and passes off defenders probably better than any OT in the draft. ROT is his home IMO. needs to bulk up a bit for run blocking

Re: Zach Strief

Strief has been a decent starter for us. Never was Evans or Nicks, but no worse then Bushrod. He'd make for an excellent back up.

I too have been wanting a LT and to move Armstead to the right.

But has anybody seen the center from Florida State? The kid is a beast. We need to build inside out on the line.

Re: Zach Strief

Junior had a reputation as a whacko coming out of college. He can play but I think some one needs to tell him to shut up.

Zach has never been anything but the consummate pro. He's also a very good RT and a true leader. I'll take that over a loudmouthed, self promoting "star" any day of the week and twice on Sundays. The whole freaking league is turning into Cam "Look at me" Newton.

Re: Zach Strief

I like junior and I see more hustle in him on defense than I do the rest. Problem most likely is his leadership skills. Being a captain on defense is probably too much for him. I can't diagnosis it cause I am not in that locker room but players like Strief & Brees should call a all captain meeting every other week to help the growth of leadership. They been on the team the longest while Lofton been on team a few years and this galette 1st year at captain.
