I would assume Payton is pissed that Graham can't make anything over 40 yards

But Hartley shanks anything under 35 yards.

I know Graham has made most of his kicks. But am I the only one who's ****ting my pants when he lines up for a kick. I don't mind bringing in some competition. Problem is, I usually shart when Garrett The Hook Hartley lines up.

Like Graham has been perfect on the short ones; he's been just as inconsistent

Re: Garrett Hartley return?!

So dump Morgan to bring in a second kicker.

Inside 35 roll out Graham any longer Hartley is up

C'mon man! Barth was available...

Graham has been inconsistent all season long. FGs barely getting in.

Re: Garrett Hartley return?!

This is more classic Payton OCD. Sometimes he just has to fiddle with stuff, just to fiddle with stuff, to feel like he's doing something. Whenever he's unhappy with stuff, the kickers always start getting tinkered with. He's like a toy collector, he has to periodically take them out and look at them, and he always needs a new one.

Re: Garrett Hartley return?!

I thought Payton said real changes need to be made. So his idea of a "real change" is looking to replace a kicker who went 19-20 this year?

either that or he's just throwing Hartley a bone. We do have a roster spot open. Either way it's dumb.

Ever since Payton's wife became his ex-wife it looks like he has been thinking with the wrong head.

Another board would have asked if he could play safety. LOL.

He won't sign Hartley this is a scare tactic

Well hope he can play LB or FS or DT or...

This move should really help our D out big time.

Graham is too old for a scare tactic, especially with Hartley.

Show me an "Old" Kicker who is not concerned about losing that check

True, but really Graham is already on borrowed time at this stage of his career. He is on the starting roster over Superbowl winning Hartley for a reason already. Should have brought in a different scare tactic kicker, IMO.

That and Hartley is out of work.

Re: Garrett Hartley return?!

Another possibility: it was reported that another "playoff" team was also interested in Hartley; bringing him in for a workout for the Saints, as a favor to him, could help to drum up that interest in him, and maybe lead to him actually getting that shot somewhere else. If the Saints are kicking the tires and taking a look at him, hey that must show the other playoff team that Hartley is legit, right?

I don't think they parted on bad terms with him, I got the feeling they always liked him.... He just missed one too many. This could just be them doing a favor for him, to get that other team interested in maybe giving him a shot.

Hartley and his girlfriend recently lost unborn baby. Girlfriend was in critical condition also. I dont't know, maybe this is our way to show him support.

I think you are correct. Payton likely doing what he can.

Well that makes way more sense, aweful for Hartley and a very classy move by Payton.

or they are pushing the buttons of the team looking to sign Hartley, but the only ones that matter now are ATL and Car, and they are both fine at kicker

Has anyone else notice the revolving door of place kickers and defensive coordinators under Sean Payton? You could throw tight end in there as well.

Carney, Mare, Gramatica,Carney,Hartley,Kasaj,Grahm. How many games did getting rid of Carney cost?
