this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; We should be in two minute muddle huddle offense throughout the entire game. Its the most brilliant part about this years Brees Payton offense... and yet I feel like they could use it throughout the game.......

Re: Does anybody else feel like.....
They used to do it all the time, and go up-tempo, at odd times in the game -- it was something that Payton was really known for. Lately I kinda think that * (warning: conspiracy theory alert) that the reason they don't do it more often these days, is because our offense is so darn OLD (so many guys over 30) that they eventually get winded and just can't keep up the pace of running a no huddle offense for that long. I wonder if maybe they'd like to do it more, but they simply CAN'T do it as often as they wish, or as often as they used to, because the old timers like Colston, Evans, Goodwin, Grubbs, Strief and all these guys over 30, maybe they can't really keep up the pace for that long. That's something I wonder about, for sure.
The Eagles run a fast offense, and they have a couple of old timers on their offensive roster over age 30, but most of their O linemen are really like 24, 27, 28 - on the much younger side of 30 instead of the over the hill side. Could be a factor. |

Re: Does anybody else feel like.....
I mentioned this in the Chat Room during the game last night. I don't think we (or anybody) could sustain it for four quarters. However, I think they should just bust into a two minute offense several times during a game, without warning, without cause, just to throw the other team off balance.

Were not going no-huddle for most of this year because it would be the fastest path to 3 and out considering our track record to date on dropped passes. Last night game and a few others excluded.

Re: Does anybody else feel like.....
The way our defense is playing the longer our offense is on the field the better especially if we score TDs.

Yeah I think a few people nailed it, we are protecting our d.
I think we win by demonstrating the same energy we did on the road for the full 60 minutes. If we do that, yeah I think we win |
