The Secret to the Bears' Win Was Simplicity
Thirteen of fourteen weeks coming into this Monday night's game I followed my long, long standing ritual of fully outfitting my living room with the gameday decor. From the Saints cover for the ottoman placed directly centered 15 feet from the 55" TV, to the full-sized Saints helmet that is really a snack center, to the Saints pillows and snuggie, and to the Saints fan flashing changing LED messages while sitting on a Saints scarf covered end table. It included me personally wearing my full garb from one of my Saints boxers which I feel is right for the day to one of several Saints undershirts to my 2006 Drew Brees black number nine jersey, socks, Saints headband and most importantly, the beads I wore to the Dome in 2009 in the playoff victory over Arizona.
The only week I missed the full regalia was the debacle against the Cowboys when I was on a ship in Central America. Last night I made a drastic decision. No beads. No headband. No fan and scarf. No snack helmet!? I went minimalistic. I just donned my basic garb, sans beads and headband, set my ottoman covered in its hand-stitched NFL sanctioned, black and gold pattern the same 15 feet away from the action. But, I did face the pattern of officially licensed helmets, fleur-de-lis and "Saints" verbiage backassedwards from its normal configuration. More of the same I think this Sunday. What do y'all think? |

Hey, y'all. I am serious about the input. Should I keep low key or ramp it back up? This is a true dilemma.
