When do you think he is ready to contribute? I haven`t heard any news on how he is performing in scrimmages.

I agree that it`s doesn`t make any sense to throw him out there when the coaches know that he would be eaten alive by Vinc Jackson or Mike Evans.

Year 2 tough it´s time for him to show up - was the same with Graham and Shockey in the first year.

Let the vets start out of respect, then play all the youngsters for most of the game.

On offense, play Graham, Colston, and Ingram sparingly

On defense, play all the young guys, play White at FS. Lets see what we have going forward.

Discover who the quitters are and purge.

Play to win but use it as an extra preseason game to evaluate.
Completely agree with sitting Drew for this one.

In all honesty I think we have no chance against TB.

Correction: Fredrick was a 7th rd pick last yr

I have liked what I have seen out of Fredrick thus far. He will definitely be in the mix for 2015.

Because Dixon and Warren are so seasoned and ready to play, right? Hell for all we know SJB might be the second-best corner on the roster. It's hard to trust some of the personnel choices considering we've been starting trash like Goodwin and Hawthorne when their backups were better players.

TB is playing "hard" for that high pick and franchise QB. I'm not sure they let us lose the game.

Humber played better than Hawthorne when he was on the field.

The players on the field want to keep their jobs. They aren't gonna just lie down.

Just win, and find the guys on the team who still want to be Saints!

Drew needs about 330 yards for another 5000 season. Not sure he can get that in one half of football. If he has a chance I'm sure he will stay in.

Which will probably be accompanied by 3 or 4 interceptions.

Play to win, no doubt. But,,,,,new/back ups need playing time. don't give 2 sh**s about Drews 5000 yard season. If I was RR, I'd get some new faces in their.

Re: What to do next week versus Tampa?

Payton came out today and said they aren't going to be playing the new players and will treat this week like any other.... real smart move there... lol

Mark it down as yet another poor decision Payton made this season...

ScottF 12-22-2014 09:43 PM

Re: What to do next week versus Tampa?

there are 5-6 teams bunched up around the 6 and 7 win mark. A loss could mean drafting as high as 8th, a win could drop us to 13th.

I'd start RG, Lelito, S. Jones, and SJB for sure

Someone b****ing about a lost incentive bonus?? Well, if you are 'earning' it in a game that doesn't count, then you don't deserve it anyways.

Personally, I'd like the higher pick, and I'd like to see some of the young guys play. But, for some reason, I think coach P will have the guys playing hard, and we'll blow out the Bucs.

And if that does happen then we are actually the losers.. lol

I dont care what anyone says this is not a game you should want to win, but knowing us we'll put up our best performance of the year while the bucs laugh their asses off.

With the way the offensive line has been playing I'm not sure that's a good idea. All the saints would need is for drew to get hurt.

Yet another injury plagued season that looked great on paper but when it came down to it the players couldn't stay healthy.

“They haven’t explained anything to me,” said Jean-Baptiste, who has been inactive for 11 of 15 games with apparently little hope of playing in Sunday’s finale at Tampa Bay. “It’s killing me not being able to help my team when we’ve been struggling.

“But to tell you the truth, I can’t figure out what’s going on.”

“Those guys have come in here and earned their playing time,” Jean-Baptiste said of Dixon and Frederick. “But it’s frustrating when you’re on the look team and don’t feel like you’re getting the chance to get better with your technique.”

“But I really don’t know what the plans are for me. I’m feeling lost right now.”

That's pretty troubling to read. You'd think the coaches would be a little more communicative and not leave the kid in limbo. Say what you want about the Raiders and Browns but they at least waited til the 4th round to draft the other two 6' 3" developmental CB's (Keith McGill and Pierre Desir.)

Re: What to do next week versus Tampa?

That report does not sound good at all.
The more you look into that draft class the worse it gets.

Cooks - Great, gave up another needed pick though

Baptise
Fortt- Not with team
Sunseri - Too early to tell
Powell - Who knows, not had any impact so far and has a long injury list
Rooks - Why did we bother,he was never being drafted

So one hit in a incredibly deep class

At least we got Saunders(4th rounder) off a practise squad.

Your boss calls you into his office. "Look, there are some promising guys we'd like to hire." "Would you help us out and do a horrible job tomorrow?" "If you do we can justify hiring your replacement."

For most of the players it's a chance to audition for another team.

The inactives should be Brees, Graham, Lewis, Haralson, Armstead, Hicks, Colston, and Ingram. Cut P. Robinson, Fokou, and Sanford. Call up Griffin, Coleman and Orson. Let Griffin start. If the new guys can't beat the Bucs, it's time for some new, new guys.

Just saw Morsteads tweet about getting on the plan for the seasons last roadtrip. Kinda pissed me off in a way. I took it as it is almost OK for this lackluster of a team to make tweets like that. I see them as having a low standard. I hope Tampa beats them into submisson early. We need to lose anyway for draft slotting. edited to make Danno the spelling police happy.

Not worth a new thread but who you guys pulling for today to win the NFCS? Most are probably not interested enough to care which is almost where I am except I live in NC and hate the Panthers more than I do ATL. At least with ATL we have been rivals for so long I can find more respect for them than the Jerry Richardson, Ron Rivera, Cam Newton Panthers.

It is a dilemma. I now hate the Panthers more than I do Atlanta, and its 100% due to Cam Newton.

I refuse to pull for Atlanta, so lets just say I'm rooting against Carolina.

Arizona is my NFC favorite, but they have no chance. I guess its the Lions or Packers for me. I just don't wanna see Seattle again. I'd even prefer Dallas over the SeaThugs. And if I had a nickel for every time I pulled for Dallas, I'd have a nickel.

Lions, AZ and then after a long gap I would go Dallas and Packers. I wont pull for Seattle or Carolina at all or ATL beyond today.
