Draft Selection Slot

Saints currently slated for 10th pick in NFL draft - New Orleans Saints Blog - ESPN

Could be picking anywhere between 7th - 14th

I personally wanna see for myself exactly where SJB, Seantavious, Griffin, Virgil, Powell & the others are at in their development. Why risk the injury? Lets hope for lucky number 7, especially with the cap hell we have going on. & for those who keep coming up with trade/cut scenarios pertaining to Graham, Gallete, etc....its not going to happen. The cap hits we would take = no. Dead money.

I have not seen us develope any positions other than the rb. on a continuous basis. Developing players in the Saints organization are few and far in between. This is on the coaches at their positions to do this. The D is in far worst shape than the O but the O needs to be fixed also. Not a coach or player should be safe after this season ends, Graham, JR. it should not matter if they don't produce let them go. Other teams do it all the time. Look no farther than Meachum going to the Chargers, they paid alot of money, seen it wasn't going to work out and let him go. We need to get the players that fit the scheme.

Saints offensive tackle Zach Strief pointed out one of New Orleans’ biggest motivators: auditioning for jobs in 2015.

Strief also added: “And you’re playing not just for yourself, you’re playing for your family, you’re playing for your teammates, you’re playing for the people here who have faith in you, and you’re playing for your fans. So there’s plenty to play for.

zach has is head screwed on straight. as usual

I see where he is coming from, but cmon zach. One game in a season thats already in the bag should not sway sean from the garbage that was put on display all season long. 15>1. Atta boy tho zach.

Hopefully Sean sticks to his guns & cleans house a bit. Im looking at you joe vitt. Thats numero uno on my list. Like ive said in other posts, ken norton displays what a great position coach can do for a unit & team. Lets make something happen.

Our schedule looks very favorable next year. Hopefully we can get things together

Lol waaay too early to label anything on Kenny. Especially with how the entire unit played, nothing seemed to click. I still like the pick & stand behind it. Lol we're not even a year out of everyone singing his rookie year praises. Alot of analysts predicted a big year. Things just didnt go as planned, but theres ALOT of time for him to develop his game.

Malcolm seemed to be doing his thing in philly this year, was a bigtime playmaker, but then things seemed to fall apart for the team. Probably had to cover bradley fletchers behind too often haha.

Sedrick - YES, 100% agree, lazy & pathetic. Terrible pick.

But like most would agree, our scouts/front office or whoever seem to lack the ability to properly assess talent for our team/scheme. Something has definitely got to change in that area.

Hey, heres to our luck changing this year, right?!

Shaq thompson or Benardrick Mckinney is something we definitely need at LB.

I agree. I would really rather see Scam Newton get eliminated anyway. The falcons are the least of two evils this year for some reason, IMO.

Unfortunately O-Line is weak early in this draft. So with Saints' in the top 15 picks I would like for a quality D-Line, LB or DE 1st overall. Of which there seems to be an abundance.

Payton doesn't pick offensive line in the 1st round anyway.

Looking at the list there should be a solid OLB sitting there when we pick.

Even the best interior O-linemen usually go late 1st or 2nd.

I'd love to trade down, but we never do.

The rams or raiders will take Jimmy grahams contract with open arms, probably for a first rounder aswell

Knowing it will never happen though, which is a shame because Jimmy is not the player many peg him to be.

I didn't believe this could true until the last few games of this season.

Lately he's playing football like he's on a basketball court.

I first noticed it when we played the seahawks in the playoffs

Jimmy came out in warm ups, shouting and screaming, nearly causing fights with the seahawks defenders about how much he's going to beat them

You would think "wow Jimmy is fired up, no ones going to stop him today"

How did it finish? Jimmy Graham, 1 catch, 6 yards, 3-4 drops and he was so intimidated he flinched whenever he saw a seahawk defender.

The patriots showed that when you got physical with Jimmy he either doesn't want to fight back and wusses out, or flat out drops the ball because he's intimidated and not focusing.

Jimmy isn't the best TE in the NFL, but he's easily top 3 or 4.

This year he was the 13th highest paid TE, next year moves to #1.

He'll be paid 1 million more than Gronk (average salary)

We overpaid then by a bunch

Gronk is twice the player Jimmy is.

Notice how I said eventually UK, it seems like that's not yet.

Cooks has the makings of a great player in the first round, we just desperately need a couple on defense.

The only problem with that I read somewhere Brandon Schreff has injury concerns, that would scare me a bit.

If Saints draft top 10 I'd like to see Shane Ray or Shaq Thompson.

I agree with Shaq Thompson, although i gotta say im not thrilled with anyone on Defense in this draft. I wanna watch more tape on shaq, but his athleticism at the LB spot is a plus. Just wanna know for sure if that can translate...can afford to add some weight as well.

Im not on the Shane Ray band wagon....is a great athlete & good pass rusher, but thats about all he's good for right now. & we already have that in Junior Gallete. JR may have the most QB hurries, but it doesnt seem to affect the game like a wagner, kuechly, willis, bowman & sadly there isnt one of those in this draft....that we know of YET. & where would he play with Cam, Akiem & Junior all having spots? Idk if that pick makes the most sense... Desperately need that impact LB who can play sideline to sideline/Cover. Alot more pass rushers in this draft than coverage LB's.

The closest player to Willis is Denzel Perryman ILB Miami. He would be my #1 pick and I agree there are alot of 1 trick ponies in this years draft, very few well rounded. Perryman is well rounded. I look for JR. to play that 1 trick pony roll, hell he really is good at it so why go after another, I think Powell and Ediboli can run containment and JR. can go on passing downs. It's really the middle getting exposed and JR. overpersuing

Perryman is intriguing to me. Ive only started to watch some tape on him, but i like it. Another plus is he appears to be someone we could have with our 2nd pick, according to alot of ranks/mocks as of rite now, but ALOT can change between now & then. Maybe its his height(5'11) thats a factor. We've all seen how that has meant nothing for Borland thus far ha. We need to PLEASE hire a new LB coach though....id hate to draft great talent to see it go to waste.

I like Jordan Hicks in the later rounds, maybe a chance on Depriest as well.

I don't think he makes it out of the 1st and needing help on the D-line I was thinking Jordan Mathews NT Okkie in the 2nd the okkies run a 3-4, all ready in 3-4 scheme. I also like DT Tyler Davison in the 5th as a swing man. Perrymans 6'1

Idk, they're already saying the starters will play & they'll handle it like any other week, which is just dumb.

Look who he plays for. Iowa, enough aid, stay away.

Drafting a OL is tricky though. Who have been the best O-linemen in recent memory?

Everything I have read shows 4 OT's going in the first rd. That's pretty deep. La'el Collins from LSU is a first round pick and shows to move to Guard as well. I would love to see him in a Saints uni.
