This team lost all of it letting Carolina walk all over them in the dome. Losing to Atlanta for the division title last week, etc, theres at least 10 instances this season where they lost a lot of dignity as a football team.. This team needs to rebuild big time starting from the lines on both sides of the ball.

Purposely losing a game is not what players, coaches or organizations that have any self respect would do.

I agree with you that this team was terrible this season. But your argument about why they should've just purposely lost this game is like complaining that Drew Brees beat up your fantasy teams defense or hoping for bad fortune against your own team so your fantasy team will win.

Who cares if the Bucs get Mariota? If they wanted him they would get him anyway. And I really doubt dropping a couple spots in the draft is going to make or brake the Saints next season.

I respect your opinion on all of this. I just don't agree man.

I'm not saying tank the game, but we were down late, just play the young guys and see what you have in them. If they won the game then so be it, but to have all our starters out there was just dumb. If Brees got hurt we'd have been screwed for a while. Maybe play some guys and use them as trade bait to get more picks because its going to take a miracle to fix this team even if we have what looks to be a cakewalk schedule next year. I don't like them tanking very much either but i also wouldnt care since its week 17 and we're out. Tanking more games then i see the issue. If you start tanking for picks say week 14 then i see the issue, in our circumstance, i dont see the issue.

Oakland and Cleveland get " top picks" just about every year.
How has it worked out for them over the last decade?
You play to WIN regardless of record.

As another poster stated before ....its not where you pick, but who you pick. This is chess, its not checkers.

I agree with you on why were our starters were out there when you could have given some quality playing time to our back ups, especially Griffin. Also, why was Graham playing if he's hurt....or is he?

Yeah Lovie Smith is known as a great developer of offensive talent so I'm sure that QB pick will work out great lol.

Google the top 10 draft picks over the past 10 years. It's about as much a crapshoot as our draft position

I mean, I guess, but I'd rather at least have a better chance at a better player so we can make the best selection possible for the organization, but thats just me. To be honest it probably doesn't matter who we select since we suck at developing defensive players.

The second part of your statement should answer the first.

My hope is that coaching changes finally happen.

11. New Orleans Saints: Brandon Scherff, OT, Iowa

Finding a pass-rusher is certainly an option here, but with four D-lineman already off the board, I think the Saints simply go with the best player available, regardless of position.

Brandon Scherff is not only a nasty, bruising blocker who will give the team a new identity in the trenches, but he's capable of thriving at either tackle position or on the inside as a guard, a la Zack Martin.

Perfect guy to replace whichever guard we get rid of in the offseason.
