Brandon Scherff is the attitude we need on the O-Line!

Re: Saints will pick 13th
We have to factor in who we think the teams ahead of us are looking at before seeing what we can get.
Since TB has the first pick, many assume a qb but TB has been in need of OL help. I say they draft Mariotta. Tennessee needs a lot of help, they have to move on from Locker, their OL is fine, their d needs some work, especially against the run. Personally some say they tanked all year. Tennessee will definitely to me be in the running for Shaq. They will forego qb. Oakland has their qb, and their defense has improved some(except when playing Denver), they have two problems. One is lack of weapons and the other is lack of safety. They however one season stopped the run and the next did not. Oakland is going to go after a run stopper. Expect them to build on Mack, which could likely be a OLB and may also be in the running for Shaq. Jacksonville last year went Bortles, they're not going to move on from him after one season, they have five receivers with number 1 potential, and two RBs in Johnson and Gerhart. Their problem in oline and pass defense. They will be in the running for Collins/Scherff. If they pass on that they will go CB or safety. Jets have so many problems. Of course QB has to be on the top of their list. And the jets fans have been crowing about Winston, and thats the perfect player to keep them dysfunctional. Redskins will not get a qb, they have an occasionally good run defense that regroups after a down season, they have a growing corner in Breeland. What exactly is this team lacking? Mentality, they will probably get the BPA. Bears.........no need for receiver, no need for OL(they already have half of ours), no need for corners. They may need a qb, but they will not get the big two. They to me will look to address something on defense in round 1. Likely safety since that is a weakness. Now the falcons......add another piece on OL? Would they dare? Oh yes they would do it just to block us. But they have need for RB and secondary. They will probably go for secondary, where? I don't know. Safety isn't quite a need, maybe they get another corner since they love drafting those. Giants........Word is giants want another weapon for Eli(lol). So they are wanting Cooper. Rams.........They've been building that defense for a while now, which is not their problem really. They need offense, and I think they are going to draft receiver. Browns will continue to improve the defense. Have a need for the run defense. Vikings will draft Melvin Gordon........they have to move on from AP, and they are all about the run. Its the one big need on their team beside weapons but with Bridgewater getting a balanced offense going is key. Now us...........we need receiver, we need oline, we need dline pressure. I think our options are going to be.............. WR.......I believe Cooper and Parker will be gone. I don't want Parker anyway and DO NOT draft Kevin White!! I like Dorial Green-Beckham from a school that has produced elite receivers. he is 6-6 and weighs 220, furthermore he transferred from the SEC! He showed his worth. I have a feeling though he will move up. I would not mind Jalen Strong from ASU another Pro-team school, but it i pac 12. he weighs 210 and is 6-2. If we don't go for them, then Devin Funchess could be had in a later round. He is 6'5 and weighs 230. The two receivers that are massive can be gotten in second rounds or later. Pass on WR. ILB. We won't get Perryman which is good because I like Bernardrik McKinney from Mississippi State! But if we want to wait Kris Frost from Auburn or Reggie Ragland from Bama can be had in the third round atm. OT. Collins is ranked 9th right now among OTs but we all know that's going to change. Scherff comes from a school that has NFL talent however, I hear he needs coaching and had a bad game against Maryland. No, I do not want that. Neither do I want A&M's who played poorly against Bama. I like Erreck Flowers from Miami. If we move him to RT, we can get Corey Robinson in a later round. I am a SC fan and our o-line is one of the SEC's best. OLB.........I don't know if Shane Ray will be available. But he's a must draft simply because I now realize what Missouri's defense did to SC. If you have watched my gamecocks, our problem was not offense until the fourth quarter(Thompson can't close), it was defense. But this was one of our toughest games. Thomas is ranked sixth, but the highlights of him is going to drive him up the draftboard. However, Vic Beasley from Clemson is who we might have a chance at if we don't get Thompson or Ray. I think it's a no-brainer we go OLB first Pick 1.Ray, Beasley, or Shaq(in that order) Pick 2.Green-Beckham(or get Flowers if there) Pick 3.Reggie Ragland or Kris Frost Pick 4.Corey Robinson(or get Funchess) |

Re: Saints will pick 13th
We've been saying we need a first round OLB for a few years, seems Payton is scared to draft one in the first, but rather wait to take projects in the mid to late rounds(Powell, Fortt, Rufus Johnson, Martez Wilson, Romeus, Bussey)

Re: Saints will pick 13th
actually like this range in the draft. over hyped combine beauty queens are usually off the board and the runner ups are a bit of a reach from up here.
Brandon Scherff ? Cedric Ogbuehi? La'el Collins? T.J. Clemmings? Do have some things in common. none are LT. Might be RT Might be better off inside at OG. kinda of a funky spot for OT. Ronnie Stanley ND Jr if he declares looks to be the best true OT that might be on the board. he is young and until the beauty show is over how big of a reach he will be is yet to be determined. So go with Brandon Scherff or La'el Collins with the idea that OG is were they might end up and one of our high priced OG becomes a Cap causality this year or next. rounds 2 I would love the versatile Cameron Erving OC/OG/ROT he would settle in as a starter some where. but i think we just played him off our board. Ty Sambrailo ROT/OG is the pick. yet another player that can slide inside to OG. he needs some grooming and exposure to DE and OLB at the NFL level coming from Colorado St. but iMO he can handle it. like Brandon Scherff and La'el Collins girth and aggression are proper catch phases for them all. One of the two should be able to man the RT while the other allows us cap room by sliding inside within a two year window. might get lucky and it right of camp. worse case we might have both OG replacement in 2016 and freeing up a ton of cap space to sign a FA ROT. either way i think these two picks are high rewards with low risk moves that can solve a lot issues that the saints will be facing in the next two years. plus they both will be improvement to depth and help keep Drew alive. ideal world we drafted the starting right side of the oL for years to come and have Zach as our back up swing man in the wings catch in round 2 what player best fits SP desire for toys in the draft? Ameer Abdullah Neb. every time i have watch him I just see SP lighting up like a three year old at christmas time. second coming of Darrin Sproles? i just have that gut feeling like i did with Cook this is the SP toy for 2015. If we do get Ameer it would allow Cook to be more of a WR than a gimmick. which would be huge ofr the saints. have to admit Cook one side and Ameer in motion to the opposite side of the field would cause issues for defenses. flash back to days gone by |

And he had a 27-88 and 6-61 line against USC when he had 200 yards against the likes of Illinoise and Rutgers. However, he had 18-69 against Wisconsin and while two TDs, he had 24-45 against MSU. He did have a good game against Miami, but the stat line against those two schools says a lot.

The last thing we need is a WR... We should draft nothing but O-line/D-line or LBs with the first 3 picks. Or we could take another WR toy for Payton and blow another draft. I also completely disagree with everyone's hype about Shaq. His defensive plays are average at best and is only hyped because of his RB ability, but watch the guy run, he never gets touched because the holes are huge. Shaq=overrated |

Enough said, he may have made some mind blowing plays but this is another risk/reward player. Now Anthony Barr did pan out well but Barr comes from one of the strongest defensive schools UCLA a attractive school that can recruit five stars. I prefer Ray, then Beasley and if neither fall to us then we should just get Collins for OT or MicKinnley for ILB. |
