I loved him too... thought he was easily going to be a star. It just goes to show that great talent and athleticism doesn't always translate if you can't overcome the the mental aspect of the game.

I remember when coming out of the U, he was compared to Sean Taylor. While healthy with the Giants, he was a decent SS. Kind of roamed around like a LB. More importantly he is an aggressive tackler.

I'll keep a lazy eye on him going forward ;).

A Pro Bowl-caliber safety early in his career, Phillips has lost a few steps because of chronic knee injuries. He missed the Eagles' past two preseason games with a quadriceps issue.

thus the futures contract. rolling the dice on yet another player with a long list of injuries grrrrrr. make matters worse yet another SS. I think we are a bit lost at what to do back there.
