I was ok with giving RR another year, but this is to good to pass up. It doesn't matter if the D has enough talent or not, this is an absolute upgrade. IF Sean gets Vic, he better give that man whatever he wants.

Now it's off with everyone's heads, and let's get these group of coaches.

Coaches don't make plays. Coaches don't cover the field sideline to sideline.

If anyone thinks Fangio would come in and make Patrick Willis, Aldon Smith, and NaVorro Bowman out of Jr. Galette, Curtis Lofton, and Parys haralson, you've got another thing coming. The Saints do not have the talent on defense, and last year they didn't have the brains either.

Of all the players on the Saints defense, there is Keenan Lewis, then everyone else. And aside from Vaccaro (jury still out) and Jordan (can't do it alone), everyone else is nothing more than a journeyman in the NFL.
Many of the current Saints coaches have been in place for YEARS with the same results.

And this team HAS talent. 2013 was no fluke. Even without everyone the team lost this still should have been a top defense. While I'll say it was partly due to injury, it looked like the defense was never ready for the season.

Team had fire coming out of the 2012 season to be better. Everyone had something to prove, but once that wore off and the D was thought of as "good" they collapsed because the basic coaching fundamentals aren't there.

More importantly, and apparently what you don't get; we had 'player-coaches' last year with all of the vets. Even when the vets like Greer, Smith, Vilma and Harper weren't on the field they were coaching the players. We needed the veteran leadership so much because there is no coaching coming from the people under Ryan.

Seems obvious to me...

Who's to say that won't happen again next season now that everyone thinks they suck again.

If a defense performs only when people think they suck then that's pretty f**kin pathetic. That right there shows that there's a problem and needs to be fixed. We've had new talent from FA and the draft brought in to help this D every year. Either we have the worst luck in the world when it comes to evaluating talent or we need and upgrade on some coaches on our staff. I find it very hard to believe we suck that bad year after year on drafting defensive talent.

Johnathan Casillas starting tonight on a very good Patriots defense.

I don't know man, defense seems more like an attitude than anything. All the teams I watch that are good play with non-stop motors. IDT it is a fundamentals issue as much as an issue of passion. We had it last season, none this season. We did not need Harper for anything. Watched the dude get ran by like his old slow ass was standing still against Seahawks. Greer was a huge loss

I think RR nailed it though, dudes drank the cool aid. You can tell, we were 6-8 and JG was running his mouth and Lewis was talking about how we were going to give the Falcons their funeral. I mean we blew monkey poop and dudes were still talking ****. We just expected to win, so Chris, it is possible.

Well if the players like him that settles it! They run the show don't they? Oh wait if that's true what is the coaching staff's purpose? Oh yes, I forgot, to cater to the "Real" owners, the PLAYERS!!! The inmates run this asylum!!! LOL
