Re: Projected Compensatory Picks (None for us yet again)
I have said before and will say again, the whole system is a mess.
You get the picks by not paying players so they go elsewhere, then you get a pick as compensation, that pick allows you not to pay another player so you get another pick and it goes on and on. Look at teh 49ers and Ravens, let players leave and get a 3/4 round comp pick, trade your late round pick for a higher/more pick the following year, use the comp pick to get a rookie, then do the same each year. Comp picks should only be for players retiring, you should not get a pick for not offering FA/existing players market rate deals |
"Two receivers to the left, Garcon to the right. Manning in the shotgun, puts Collie in motion. Looks in his direction...it's picked off! It's picked off! It's Tracy Porter again! He's runnin' free! He's gonna go all the way!

The best teams in the league use this system. We don't. Even the Panthers seem to be able to use it with the new GM they have. Some teams value draft picks and other teams treat them as wet paper towels and toss them away such as we do. |

Yep, teams that replace 8 million dollar players with better, cheaper players, or draft choices (minus an entire year) certainly do better massive eye roll

We have not. Nothing more to it than that. Edit - thanks ScottF... Also, keep in mind that yes it is minus an entire year but it isn't like there is a gap on the roster. The prized player is gone but in their place is a solid contributor with the added bonus of another pick the following year. So the teams succesfull at this get a 2 for 1 if you will. |
