Issue bonds and use the proceeds to buy the Saints. I know that we cannot have an ownership like Green Bay has (although I think that is an excellent way to go -- it ensures the team stays in the city) but what is the deal on State Ownership. If we are paying Benson 20 Million a year until 2020 thats 180 million -- which is almost half of what the saints would sell for.

For one Benson has to put the team up for sale. Not doing that. Benson building more buiness\'s in New Orleans, isn\'t a sign he is leaving.

Most of his holdings are in San Antonio -- I agree he is not leaving but that doesn\'t mean he doesn\'t cash in on the Saints team by selling them to a coalition that will move them to LA.

I don\'t think the man would be too safe in this city if he sold the team to relocators.

I don\'t think 180 million is really close to what the numbers, in half, represent..

The Houston Texans were sold at 700 million...to Bob Mcnair...

And the L.A. deal is nearing 750 million in proposed funds..so..yeah..Benson has a lot af things to consider..

read near the half way point..it has a few interesting facts about the deal in L.A.,

I don\'t know for sure about whether he\'s going anywhere, but I don\'t think the fact that he is building in N.O. is any indication that he wont move the team. I don\'t know of any requirement that says he has to live in the town where his NFL team is located. Or that he can\'t operate his N.O. projects from another city.

Now the argument that his public image would be so badly tarnished if he moved the Saints or sold to a relocater that he wouldn\'t do it is a valid one. But then again, if the price is right....
