ILB Andrew Jackson

So I just read that the Colts released ILB Andrew Jackson and I remember a few folks wanting the guy in the draft last year. What's the story on this guy and should we try to bring him in?

"Jackson was arrested on Jan. 24 in Kentucky on a drunken-driving charge and pleaded guilty later that day. It was Jackson's second such arrest in less than a year, the other on a DUI charge in Muncie."

Remember when we signed Anthony Hargrove after he kicked his drug addiction, he turned out to be a pretty decent role player for us!

Unfortunately it looks like this guy is more of a Joe Morgan.

This guy is stout against the run and plays well on ST. I would give him a look. We need lb. help, maybe Loftons back-up.

I'm not sure if he's just a two-down thumper or not. Is he essentially a poor man's Lofton or can he perform well in coverage?

More of a 2 down thumper. I'm not certain of coverage skills. He is a tough guy though!! Even if we would get him as Lofton's back-up I still want an ILB(Perryman) in the draft. Jackson mentors his play after Ray Lewis and is only 22 years old. If Perryman and Jackson would work out at ILB in a 3-4 at their age we would be set at that position for years. At least bring him into camp.

It looks like this loser is on the verge of a very lengthy suspension in the current day NFL. I wouldn't even consider him if I was the Saints management. Dizzle is right, the last thing we need is another Joe Morgan on the roster.

He should've brought a box of cash and prescription drugs with him. At least he'd still have his job in Indianapolis.....

Let's find out how smart or how stupid he is. Maybe he's smart enough to get his head out of his arse.

especially as Lofton's backup...I think he'd be a great mentor for someone w/those kinds of issues. perhaps he never really had a chance to help out JM.

Supposedly we don't have the coaches for average talent.

You guys want to take on a problem child????

Yes. At least bring him into camp and see what he could do.

Bring in any LB that wants to compete.

Wanted this guy in the 6th instead of OT (who dat?) Rook. Maybe this is why we didn't.

But, would've been a better shot than Rook or could've gone for another ILB (or OL for that matter...Rook, what dofus picked him and does he still have a job?).

2 arrests in one year? I already know what he can do...

We just got rid of Morgan for alcohol-related issues and we're going to sign a two-down thumper with the same problems?!?
