this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; So I just read that the Colts released ILB Andrew Jackson and I remember a few folks wanting the guy in the draft last year. What's the story on this guy and should we try to bring him in?...

Re: ILB Andrew Jackson
"Jackson was arrested on Jan. 24 in Kentucky on a drunken-driving charge and pleaded guilty later that day. It was Jackson's second such arrest in less than a year, the other on a DUI charge in Muncie."

Re: ILB Andrew Jackson
Remember when we signed Anthony Hargrove after he kicked his drug addiction, he turned out to be a pretty decent role player for us!
Unfortunately it looks like this guy is more of a Joe Morgan. |

This guy is stout against the run and plays well on ST. I would give him a look. We need lb. help, maybe Loftons back-up.

Re: ILB Andrew Jackson
I'm not sure if he's just a two-down thumper or not. Is he essentially a poor man's Lofton or can he perform well in coverage?

Re: ILB Andrew Jackson
More of a 2 down thumper. I'm not certain of coverage skills. He is a tough guy though!! Even if we would get him as Lofton's back-up I still want an ILB(Perryman) in the draft. Jackson mentors his play after Ray Lewis and is only 22 years old. If Perryman and Jackson would work out at ILB in a 3-4 at their age we would be set at that position for years. At least bring him into camp.

Re: ILB Andrew Jackson
It looks like this loser is on the verge of a very lengthy suspension in the current day NFL. I wouldn't even consider him if I was the Saints management. Dizzle is right, the last thing we need is another Joe Morgan on the roster.

Re: ILB Andrew Jackson
Let's find out how smart or how stupid he is. Maybe he's smart enough to get his head out of his arse.

Re: ILB Andrew Jackson
especially as Lofton's backup...I think he'd be a great mentor for someone w/those kinds of issues. perhaps he never really had a chance to help out JM.
