1. Brees is not going to play at a high level when he is 40.
2. His window is about to close(1 to 2 years at the most)
3. Actually this would be a smart buisness move for the Saints
4. Brees still has good value(if traded)
5. I with JP(our qb. is already here)
6. Our O-line has 3 players over 30 and in regression and needs to get infused with youth.
7. I love Brees and wish he could play at an elite level forever but father time will catch up pretty soon and we will have another qb, under C. If we move on I can accept it but will never forget what he has done and remember the good times he has brought as long as I live.

We aren't blowing up squat. We have more talent on this team than any in Saints history. We have a Superbowl QB with 2 or 3 more solid years left in the tank, and we're likely a top 3 NFC contender as is.

As long as Brees is still playing, we swing for the fences.

I understand getting value for Brees while you can but if you get rid of him you get rid of everyone and eat the cap hits at once.

With the ownership issues up in the air this team will be swinging for the going for broke now.

Im not sure that once Brees hangs up the cleats we are not looking for a new Coach and GM too

... any kind of restructuring of a contract for cap purposes will always, ALWAYS, ALWAYS favor the player.

Given the expected cap growth over the next two years (no less than $143M 2015 and likely well over $150M in 2016) there is no reason to restructure Brees' contract, especially at this time. Loomis isn't stupid. It makes no sense to do a restructure unless that was the last resort. That isn't the case this year. You don't do restructures just for the sake of doing them. We need to try to stop trying to read anything more into it than that. Brees isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I expect at least a new contract following the 2016 season with a chance for an extension following this coming season.

This sounds like a reloading of talent year for the Saints to then have one last championship run before Drew retires, hope I'm wrong but I wouldn't be surprised its another 7-9, 8-8 season. Now if Payton somehow recovers his balls then all bets are off
