this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I know we need a lot more than what I am bringing up. But if he is around in the later half of the draft, do we pull the trigger? With speed like that Auburn's Corey Grant runs blazing 40 ...

Need for Speed....

He didn't do much with all that speed at Auburn.

I'm all for speed on defense though. We're painfully slow at LB and SS.

Guys who didn't produce in college and run great 40's rarely translate to the NFL. Ex LSU DB Chris Cummings ran a 4.3 and a sub 10 sec 100. No NFL production. Joey Galloway would say draft him though.

Good point on Auburn production. He says he can do multiple duties but that kinda didn't materialize on the field even with all that speed. Wish him the best but think he's a long shot.

To me, past the 4th round is a gamble anyways. We could draft 3 Qbs from that point on for all I care so long as the voids are filled. Who knows maybe that player is the next Tom Brady.

Speed won't prevent two defenders from being in the backfield every play.
