He had played for a relatively low salary for us and took us to the Super Bowl and won it. I don't understand all the complaints about his salary now. Most of us wouldn't voluntarily take a pay cut pay cut just so our company could hire better qualified people. The implication that Drew is greedy or doesn't care about going to another Super Bowl is ridiculous. If the Saints organization can't find the money to sign free agents and he is asked to restructure, I feel certain he will. But, like the other QBs, I'm sure he will not actually take a pay cut but, instead, will just spread the impact of his contract out. I don't care who else they sign, without Drew our chances of another Super Bowl in the near future are very slim. I think he deserves every penny he is being paid especially when you look at Romo who has a salary commensurate with Drew's.
People who complain about Brees' salary need to remember he offered to sign for a lot less at the beginning of the 2009 season and the Saints balked. Then he won a Superbowl and they were screwed. Saints in a whole they dug for themselves with Brees' contract.

No, but I have had enough business law courses and a degree in accounting to know how the intricacies of these contracts work. In management asset accounting you can play all sorts of tricks to make the books reflect values of assets, in this case, player salaries.

LOL. Lawyers usually get analysts like me to do their digging (dirty work) and get all the glory. I have worked for the past 18 years as a systems/business analyst.

that is all i ask him to do. juggle the books a bit. but given the whole sale player sale going on we might want to entertain offers just incase we get takers or get cut happy
