Re: Number 2 Corner
He's come a long ways... thanks to that devastating front 7. I remember how terrible he was the first couple of years in the league. The best time to capitalize on corners were the last two years where guys were signing 1 and 2 year deals. The market has gone back up and they're all looking to collect now.
Fix the pass rush back to 2013 level and we should be fine with a league average/slightly above average corner at 2. |

Chris Culliver. The best option would be me, but Culliver will do. 😏

Re: Number 2 Corner
There was a lot of weird things with the defense last season. People forgot how to tackle, rush the passer, stop the run, etc. Hopefully they'll "un-weird" everything this year.

Re: Number 2 Corner
Well signing a free agent (I've suggested Green Bay FA CB Davon House) would certainly provide more than enough competition to ensure a quality cornerback...
But consider there are two other important issues that affect that second CB position... First, the pass rush was absolutely abysmal last season; defensive line coach at the least should have been sent packing; the upstart NT John Jenkins never got going with a pectoral injury; Glenn Foster was injured as well... Second, Dennis Allen has returned and he may be able to turn the talent around that we have at CB already making it easier to focus on fixing the offensive and defensive line play in free agency and the draft... So it is not as easy just signing a second cornerback and fixing all the defensive woes, team woes... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...
