I watched pretty much every game they played (Sunday Ticket and NFL Network). Partly because they are our rival and also because I have been a member of one of their forums for years (as the token Saints fan). I like to stay informed.

McClain has been one of the league's worst cover corners as the Falcons' slot man the past couple seasons and should come extremely cheap. Cornerback is a huge need for the Saints, but McClain wouldn't be guaranteed anything

Um, cover corners are rare in the NFL and they seldom if ever play nickle. That whole statement was crap.

I would rather go through the draft than overpay for someone who isn't all that talented.

There are two options.
1. We go with the CBs we have (maybe the CFL guy comes through, maybe SJB finally gets playing time). Instead of spending big or drafting high we spend big and draft high on pass rushers.
2. We reach with an early pick in the draft, but if Waynes isn't there no other CB is worth the 13th pick.

Also, Mcclain rated out as a -8.1 according to PFF. That is a far lower rating than PROB and Corey White.

There really isn't too much talent available for CBs this year.

Shouldn't we be worrying about getting under the cap prior to targeting any FA? We still have a fair amount of work to do here.

Galettes roster bonus will be converted so take $10ml off that. Graham also has a $5ml roster bonus. The rest post June 1st cut Hawthorne $4.5ml.
My guess is the team will make these moves then wait it out until they need to make room while shopping Grubbs. The dead money is higher in a trade than a June 1st cut but see whats there in return. Post June 1st theres another 6ml cutting Grubbs and a Evans restructure a bit more
