Saints in the mix for CJ Spiller

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; If we had more cap then Spiller at 3ml ok but when we had Thomas on on around 2ml who though had a few injuries is less prone than Spiller its a strange move....

Re: Saints in the mix for CJ Spiller

This organization is pretty good at finding low-cost young runningbacks like PT, Ivory, Robinson. Keep up that tradition and let the team find someone late in the draft or rookie free agency. All we really need is a Shane Vereen type of player. I'm also hoping we could possibly bring back PT at a reduced rate if no one snaps him up.

Re: Saints in the mix for CJ Spiller

CJ Spiller would be the only RB on our team who ran for 1,000 yards. And he averages 5.0 yards per carry. And he's got speed at the position which we lack after losing Sproles and Bush. He's better then Pierre. I don't like him more then Pierre, but we've got to take our hearts out of all this.

Sproles also has been hurt. I think CJ's problem was playing for the bills.

All quiet on this front so far.

I could live with Spiller at a 4yr $13.8M with $8.5M in guaranteed money.
