Anybody else get sick when they see this guy tearing it up for the Eagles and remember how long he sat on the shelf with noone picking him up, us needing linebakcer help, and we made no move to get him? And we would have gotten him cheap too. Is anyone else praying this doesn't happen in free agency again this year?

I was thinking the exact same thing about Trotter during the Minnesota game. It seemed like every sideline shot (at least out here in Korea) was of Trotter. This guy is still a beast. I really hope we don\'t pass on another quality FA for the sake of the draft.

He probably would have turned us down anyway. He\'d rather stay out of football than play for the Saints.

I know that I had wondered whether Totter had lost something after spending time in Washington or whether it was just the Philly system that made him look so good. Well, one of my questions have been answered. Is it the system or is he that good?

If we had one LB that played as good as he or any of the Pats LBs, I\'d look for an 11 win season next year.

Actually at that time I think we still had a healthy Cie Grant who was looking spectacular, a surprising Courtney Watson and an allegedly improved Ruff fighting for the MLB position. It was the strongest of our 3 LB positions. And the word on Trotter at that time was he was an unhappy injury prone malcontent who was simply a real good fit for Jim Johnson\'s defense.

I think most of the posts were more concerned with getting a solid WLB (like Ian Gold) or a good SLB.

In Hindsight, he\'d have been a great pick-up, especially after Cie went down for the year.

I wish we\'d have gotten him now.

Have anyone heard anything bout Cie? Will he be available for next year or is it the end before the beginning with him?

We have been teased by Cie for what, 3 years now? Enough is enough. If he so much as stubs a toe in camp this year cut him. Enough of this collecting a check and sitting out the year business.

Danno, you are right about Trotter, as the reports on him were not all glowing. I was just lamenting the fact he sat in free agency and the Eagles signed him as an after-thought. I am hoping we don\'t hold out next year hoping Cie gets better or something and miss someone else. I agree with what someone else said, if we had Trotter we may have won one or two more games. He seems like a leader too. All I know is in that last playoff game he looked awesome and it made me sick.

Agreed... I still remember Cie Grant being touted as a young Ray Lewis by some people in our organization when he was drafted... Enough will the \"potential\" stuff and if he can\'t stay healthy... I think it is time to let him go... I thought Colby, Allen, and Hodge did a fantastic job at the end of the season...

I think the real problem is... our defensive scheme... What happened to back in the days when we had linebackers with 8 to 10 sacks?... Yes, those were the good ole days... We need to become more aggressive and attack... We have a fabolous group of defensive ends... now if Sullivan can get motivated and we draft a playmaking linebacker( I\'m really high on Michael Boley in the 2nd round)... we should have a solid front 7... I don\'t even want to comment on our useless safeties... bless their souls for they can\'t make a tackle or pick for anything...

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

All little common sense goes a long way.

From the reports I read Grants knee is degenerative. It will never get better. But I heard it can\'t get worse. It\'s simply a pain tolerance thing, and constant swelling and draining.

Yea, its time to give up on the kid. Let him come to camp and give it a try, he may make a good backup. Its a shame, he had so much potential and unlike one fat-asss lazy talented player on this team, motivation, effort, and drive were never his problem.

I\'d ask him to drop about 20 lbs and try a move to Strong Safety. Playing at 220 lbs has got to hurt the knee less than playing at 245. But I really don\'t know much about that type of injury.

It sounds like he has chrondomalacia, which is a degenerative disorder of the knee and knee joint. It amounts to a \"roughening\" of the smooth areas of the joint, which causes pain and swelling to occur. You can\'t \"scope\" it or make it go away. So your issue as to our putting in time on another bust, albeit not his fault a la Sully, is a valid point. Cut him and gain another roster spot for someone who is healthy. While we\'re at it let\'s cut Leon too and make room for someone who is a \"team oriented\" player. Enough is enough. We\'ve had more \"project\" players than the the Fisher Project team. Stop already.
