Saints cut Ellerbe's base salary by $7.4 million
New Orleans Saints cut Dannell Ellerbe's base salary by $7.4 million
New Orleans Saints linebacker Dannell Ellerbe, acquired last week in a trade for Kenny Stills, agreed to slice his 2015 base salary by more than $7 million, according to NFLPA records. Ellerbe's base salary will be $1.1 million instead of $8.5 million in 2015. He also agreed to amend his 2016 salary from $6.45 million to $4.1 million and his 2017 salary from $6 million to $4.1 million, records show. Ellerbe does not appear to have any significant bonuses in 2015, except for $100,000 in what is likely a workout bonus. blah blah blah The Saints have $2.89 million in space under the 2015 salary cap, according to the NFLPA.
