Re: Saints cut Ellerbe's base salary by $7.4 million
I really hope this guy can come in and make a big difference. But I really hope we draft a good ILB.

Re: Saints cut Ellerbe's base salary by $7.4 million
I love flying under the radar. Bye wk. 8 they will all be on the bandwagon talking about us putting up # and ruling the division. Ellerby will be a monster. I would love to still draft an ILB to push Hawthorn. Tell the truth McKinney or Perryman next to Ellerbe sounds pretty good to me. Would be tough with a stud NT and ILB'ers like those to run on.

Don't feel bad about the crow. When you just about have to turn over the franchise to right yourself, it really says more about what the team is doing now than it does about the previous years. I like how they're going about rebuilding the team and gathering draft picks, while getting under the cap. In the past it's been about pushing back salaries and holding onto aging players, who later get released because they no longer have any trade value. I'm glad they recognized the downward trend of this team and got pro-active this time.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Re: Saints cut Ellerbe's base salary by $7.4 million
Before last week, I really thought mgmt had taken a mediocrity is acceptable approach. I'm so happy with what they have done to this point especially landing Unger and more draft picks. Hope they hit on a couple of these picks if they keep them, history shows that this team tends to move around in the draft so I can't wait to see what happens. I was so down after week 17 but right now I'm so pumped for the season to begin and the draft hasn't happened yet

If he doesn't start, then this trade was a waste. Stills obviously pissed SP at some point, but he was was certainly cap-friendly.
