Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Ellerbe's contract not guaranteed before the extension?!?

Yes his cap number would've been higher, but couldn't he have also been released without cap consequences?!?

I think it could be said we WERE a franchise without a plan...

But there's definitely a plan in place, and the Boss Man Cometh...

Missing some details. A man doesn't just give up 9.3 mill when he already has a contract signed. what arrangements have been made?

He does when it's not guaranteed. He was about to be cut outright.

Why would he agree to those terms? Does Loomis have blackmail on him?

He was going to be released. Any new contract on his own would be for less. The Saints had an asset that Miami wanted badly. They valued Stills at eating $3.5 million and giving up the 3rd. On top of all of that, he had a relationship with Ireland who brought him to Miami.

He signed the old "prove it" contract with a team that wanted him coming off missing almost a full season.

No, it's not called blackmail. In business it is known as leverage.

Hail Loomis. He is the sh*t!
