Before last week, I really thought mgmt had taken a mediocrity is acceptable approach. I'm so happy with what they have done to this point especially landing Unger and more draft picks. Hope they hit on a couple of these picks if they keep them, history shows that this team tends to move around in the draft so I can't wait to see what happens. I was so down after week 17 but right now I'm so pumped for the season to begin and the draft hasn't happened yet

Ellerbe was a dud in Miami. But worst case, he's equivalent to Lofton.

Ireland must really trust Ellerbe.

There is one problem with Jeff Ireland the GM. He brings very good expensive players but they don't fit in their scheme. Ellerbe is one, than you have Wallace. Deep threat expensive WR help for dink and dunk "alex smith 2.0" QB.

Okay, I was incorrect. One good season, one entire season injured:

Ellerbe finished his first season in Miami with 101 tackles, 2 INTS, 2 fumbles recovered, and 1 sack as the starting middle linebacker. In 2014, Ellerbe was moved to outside linebacker but suffered a season-ending hip injury in the first quarter of their Week 1 game against New England.

But still, an even swap for Curtis Lofton in my mind. Veteran depth, Super Bowl win, all that stuff helps..
