this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Everyone's saying we won't be doing anything this year. The team's been completely overhauled. Sounds like another chance to fly under the radar all the way to the playoffs like 06....

Well on the flip side, we were supposed to everything last year and did nothing. So maybe you're right.

We're at our best when nobody gives us a chance. Success went to the team's head... Guys just showed up and expected to win instead of putting in the work. Now we're the underdogs again and the team had it's wake up call... I feel pretty good about that!

Re: This seems familiar...
Payton said that things were going to change, and I see huge amounts of evidence that they are making changes -- on every level, philosophically, structurally, organizationally, coachingwise and even of course particular players. If you are part of the problem, you are either dealt with like the Keenan Lewis situation or shipped out to make room for people who want to be here. There will always be a few people calling for Rob Ryan or Coach Vitt and/or McMahon's heads -- that will never change -- but there have already been substantial changes made, both behind the scenes organizationally -- how they do things -- and on the roster itself, so I am tremendously excited.
I'm not chugging any Kool Aid but I'm the most excited I've been in a long time. Last year it was painfully obvious, that the things that used to work for the team, the things that used to be successful for them, were no longer working anymore. Change is good. Fire in the belly is good. It's overdue! |

I won't be happy until the 3 stooges (Vitt, Johnson, McMahon) are gone. I really can't judge Ryan yet because he hasn't had a year with "his" guys as position coaches. He's been around long enough to where he has to know who can help put in his system and coach up the players, Payton's drinking buddies aren't them
