Bud Dupree
This guy would be perfect for our Defense. I know some on the forum don't feel he would be an ideal fit but trust me, the fact that he's 269 lbs already, means he can easily pump up to 280 lbs and be our 5 technique DE opposite Cam Jordan.

Re: Bud Dupree
The pick would be a reach in my opinion(which counts for little, I know) as I don't think we should be drafting developmental players in the top 15 picks, especially not on defense. We need day 1 starters. Unfortunately all the immediate impact pass rushers will be gone by 13.

Re: Bud Dupree
I respectfully have to disagree with your opinion. He is ready to step in from day one start on a defense. The fact that he has an NFL Ready body means he simply has to be plugged into a spot on the defense and let go. Also since he has the versatility to play multiple positions he would allow us to keep additional players at a more needed position like O-line. He is far from a reach at #13.

Re: Bud Dupree
he is one of the many teases in the first round. if he reaches just half of the hype he is getting it is a good pick. if he reaches 100% we are talking pro bowl hall of fame type of player.
high risk high reward |
Re: Bud Dupree
He would be a very poor selection at 13. If he is available at 31 then you take him, but no way do we need another "project player".
Risk is too high, 1st round picks and 2nd need to contribute day 1. |

What we need is an ILB in the first round.

Just don't see it from Dupree. Nothing stands out and a little too inconsistent for my taste.

Re: Bud Dupree
The spot ww are in is very interesting as you know a good player will be on the board, but maybe not a player needed.
If the right player isnt there and somebody wants to move up dropping back and looking at the like of Eddie Goldman,Malcom Brown,Jordan Phillips could be a good move. Both Brown and Phillips would offer that Beef the line has been missing. Need constant rotation to keep the big men fresh. Wouldn't mind Dupree but in the 20s not early. I'd love a boring draft of linemen and linebackers. With a couple of later picks on potential. Its going to take till next summer to get all the pieces needed so get the lines and pass rush going and we can compete both sides of the ball. I fully expect WRs and a TE drafted |
