Whats up Hou-Dats????

Its time again. This is the 6th annual Crawfish Extravaganza of the Houston area Saints Fans Chapter of WhoDat Nation. Every year just gets better.

As of last year, due to my recent distractions, I have been impeached as Semi-DeFacto-Sortof-Executive Branch-Type Guy.

We Already have a venue, if Hou-Yat is still willing to host at his home.

Lets discuss how we're going to do fundage for the bugs.... Im good with just buying a bag myself. But last year everyone kicked in... i cant remember how much...

What am I forgetting?

Sky I want to come this year and stop on the way out and back so my wife can see where I grew up in New Orleans. I also worked for my uncle in Baytown putting on aluminum roofs. Talk about hot in the summa cher. How much for a bag and how many people will that feed?

Cheramie, Im working in Baytown right now. I live on the Hard Working EAst Side / Houston, (in the BArrio.) I will defer the answer to how much does a bag of crawfish cost to my more knowledgable coonazzes. I think the average person eats 4lbs... of bugs....but I feel like I eat more... but probabaly not this year, since I dont eat like i used to...
... but i drink more... and sleep less... : 0

As Pamela's marathon travels are over, perhaps we can help out this year and be the host location of MudBugs VI. We'd have to stick with the May 9th date, however. We're in The Woodlands. Just like HouYat, we're properly equipped with a pool and hot tub... and the outside has a bit of New Orleans charm with various congregation areas.. We'd need some help with tables and chairs, etc, of course. :bng:

I can't do June, and definitely not anything past June 5 through July or the end of my life...

But early May is maybe, could be, possibly be... maybe. I'll coordinate with Elizabeth and see...

Do you think you have enough room for all the tents too? I'm open to moving Mudbugs to new locations but we need to make sure we can accommodate everyone.

Smash, its awesome that you and Pamela can host this, if needed.

I know from personal experience, its a bunch O work, that for sure. Lol.

Either site is great, but I think Bruz & Karen's might be more central for a number of us, particularly Rob, who is our Chief Bug Supplier, not to mention our prime cache is right down the road from him. And one more factor: Ed can do our date, but Edvina will have to be flown in from CA, and Bruz's is right under the runway of Bush. which sounds dirty, but isnt.

I would be happy to yield to the will of the People, but I move to retain Bruz & Karen's as our site this year. Im certainly not dead-set, if anyone else has discussion for us.

Not much need for tents in my neck of the woods (I am literally in the woods), although there is room for a couple, maybe three. I have two arbors, three quaint connecting congregation areas and shade for days.

Not much farther, if at all, from the airport (maybe 20 minutes via toll road). There is a guy right by us selling mudbugs from Louisiana, off of 45 and Rayford. We just have to order ahead and reserve.

The only negative we have is the disposal of the used water after boiling. I've got a utility sink and some fine ditches. :)

Though it'd be a nice change of pace. Plus we can help take the load off of HouYat who's been very gracious and accommodating. Maybe we can do like the SuperBowl. Rotate it between locales.

EDIT:
After talking to HouYat, I think we will defer to HouYat's crib for the next couple of years. Y'all ready for some crawfish?

Whatever we need. I just retired from the military, I'm the apex of dependable... so they tell me. Seriously, whatever is needed I'm ready to help in anyway, even have it at my place (no pool) but a nice view of a golf course. The HOA olympic size pool is around the corner.

Had some crawfish at Ragin Cajun in the Woodlands a couple Saturdays ago. The crawfish was good but the service sucked

Went to Woodrows in the Heights today, crawfish was good and service was ok. Since they just had named changed (used to be Mardi Gras) so its the same crappy mgmt half the menu wasn't available so the wife and kid had almost nothing to choose from, and how can you run a restaurant and not have a kids menu if you are a restaurant and not a full service bar, I had suggested Ragin Cajun off of Westhiemer and Wesalynn since we were at the zoo but got vetoed

Is anyone that knows me interested in season tickets. I've been given the chance to buy additional tickets since I've been a ticket holder since 1997.
There isn't many options for 2 seats together except for in the $2000 range but if anyone is interested let me know and we can work something out. I have about 2 weeks to decide but everyday that passes allows someone else to grab them.

I was gonna' try and find someone with an extra ticket to the Saints/Lions game ... whenever it will be ... if that's what you're talking about.

I do have a Saints knit cap, stadium gloves and scarf I could wear over my Lions jersey, :).

Sorry you won't be able to make it this year, Buds....this was the only weekend that Mike had open to do this.

I am resigning as Social Director.
I will now assume my new position as Counselor of Wayward Girls.
I've been studying this position (and others) this past year.
I might be bringing a new Wayward Girl this year, but last year's Wayward Girl keeps messaging me, so I dont know... but I'll bring a leash this year, if its her again. Either way, I'll most likely be spent, but can be revived with some AndyGator.

Also, since I've been impeached, somebody needs to make a list of stuff we need.

If you've never been before, remember to give HouYat $20 ! Them crawfish dont buy themselves. But everyone here has a history of helping out.
I'll never forget when I used to be married, and we did it at my old SwampHouse, and the ex was like, (In her normal B*tchy voice) "who's gonna pay for all that crawfish...." And I was like, (in my normal sweet voice) "Baby, Louisiana People do this all the time... everybody helps everybody, and you always end up with extra everything."

I'll buy a bag myself, if necessary... no big thing....
