Drew Brees: 'Almost always a sense of urgency'with New Orleans Saints, he tells radio station
By Christopher Dabe, NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune A look around the locker room the next time the New Orleans Saints are together will remind Drew Brees the approach he tries to take to each season -- and that each one begins with a high number of newcomers. Especially in 2015, it seems. "You just never take anything for granted," the 14-year NFL veteran said Thursday in an interview with WWL radio. "You understand each and every year ... there's a new crop of players that come up that don't have a any knowledge as to the program you built -- how you got to the point that you are. "I think you, at the beginning of each year, almost always go back to square one, in a way. It's almost like re-teaching, making sure everybody knows what's expected of them, the fact that we're always competing. It's always a sense of urgency to get better. And there's high expectations." In addition to high-profile newcomers of running back C.J. Spiller, center Max Unger and cornerback Brandon Browner, the Saints hold nine picks in the 2015 NFL Draft, including five in the first three rounds. The draft class as it stands will be the largest since 2002, four years before coach Sean Payton and Brees arrived in 2006. Re: Drew Brees: 'Almost always a sense of urgency'
Now this topic has been brought up the past few year and yet year in and year out FA and Draft has resulted in a revolving door of players in and out of the locker room. Poor drafting and cap management has been killing the saints. I know Mickey pulls wabbits out the hat year in and year out but the question that needs to asked; "How did we back ourselves into this corner yet again?"
Get ready. I am predicting a slow start for the passing game yet again this year. That means the saints need to get the OL clicking ASAP in the run game. For once finish the job of building the OL Defense to stop the bleeding is all i am hoping for. This defense will continue to add to that sense of urgency on the offense, yet again, to put points on the board every time they take field.. |

Seattle is in good shape with Wilson. He plays for under a million a year I believe and they are able to pay the Shermans and Lynch's enought to keep them around while they are getting prime performance from their QB for pennies. Wilson will want a contract. A big one, and with Graham, Sherman, and Lynch they will need to make some decisions. |
