this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; went: Vick threw two interceptions (though one was negated by a penalty) and was only 11-for-24 for 136 yards. His passer rating was an anemic 46.5. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...nse/index.html against the Eagles. 46.5? My God. [Edited on 25/1/2005 by ScottyRo]...

You mean that guy who was in the NFC champ game? On the road in the freezing cold? Against one of the best teams in the NFC the last 4 years? And his first year in the West Coast offense with garbage receivers? Yeah, they should cut him immediately.

I never said they should cut him, but his rep far exceeds his production. He gets Ws and that matters most, but he better improve as a QB or it wont be long before his mobility will decrease and the Ws too.

The numbers he had were a direct result of his Defense missing tackles..giving up huge plays..and putting all the pressure on him to keep pace...I didn\'t agree with a lot of the play calls for the Falcons Offense..they just had a crappy game plan overall...

Vick is a special type of player gifted with great talant, not very often you come across a QB who can run the ball like a RB, but at the same time he doesn\'t have the best arm in the world which will in turn have a short career in the NFL.
BTW...why do you all think that Brooks doesn\'t run like he did in his first year as a starter?, I say allow him more bootlegs and let the boy run when in trouble which is often, I don;t think the line protected him good at all |
Rest In Peace JoeSam, thanks for everything my friend.

..he\'s more of a RB who can throw a someone decent ball... throws it very hard, sure, but that\'s all... ... that the lanes open up when he drops back to pass helps him... ... he\'s VERY exciting to watch, no doubt about it, but I\'m sure LaDanian Tomlinson would do it better if he played QB. |
