Did not miss a game last season and still respectable. This could work out.

Our team will be a real live fantasy team by the time everything is said and done. We will be like Who Dat for real. Btw, would love this signing.

This signing would more than likely work out very well!

I would absolutely love this pick up.

Props to Dizzle.

He called it.

Solid vet, probably a few productive years left, fantastic locker room leader and high character guy from what I hear.

He and Colston would be perfect mentors for Brandin Cooks and Amari Cooper.

If we sign Jennings and still draft a WR in the first ill be very disappointed.

he wouldn't have to be number 1 here, should come purty cheap, so I don't mind this. Solid move

Re: WR Greg Jennings visiting Saints

I would not mind that at all. Do it! And if WR is BPA at #13 then draft a WR.

Re: WR Greg Jennings visiting Saints

This would definitely shore up the receivers nicely and drafting a speedster would still be a good call in any round.

Haha thanks mate!

Would feel really good about this signing if it happens, as we all likely would.

Let's hope it happens!

Jennings is still a good WR with great hands, whats not to like.

TwistedTiger 04-14-2015 05:34 PM

Re: WR Greg Jennings visiting Saints

Would definitely be an upgrade at the WR position. Would also increase the odds we go defense with the first pick, probably two.

ChrisXVI 04-14-2015 05:36 PM

Re: WR Greg Jennings visiting Saints

This would be a terrific signing. As others have said he wouldn't have to be a starter here and who would really complain about having Greg Jennings as our third or fourth option? That's great depth if I've ever heard of it.

Same contract as Spencer?

Probably vet minimum. Thats likely all he's gonna get anywhere else.

Can he block any better than Grambeaux?

He was Mr. Basketball in Michigan in the year 2001. That makes him yet another converted basketball player. And he ran a 4.42 in pre-draft. I wonder just how much of his speed he has lost.

Beastmode 04-14-2015 06:16 PM

Re: WR Greg Jennings visiting Saints

I think this happens. He obviously wants to play for a good QB. I know he must have had other interests. He was cut a month ago.

Jimmy was a great player for the Saints and I appreciate his contribution. However this is one of the only times in the Sean Payton era that they traded a player at the perfect time. Too bad they couldn't get anything for Ingram.

Greg is a solid vet that will be were he is suppose to be. this is a huge deal this year given all the new faces we will probably have at WR this year

Ingram almost rushed for 1,000 yards last year, behind a banged up O line.

You may want to grab your popcorn and enjoy 2015 before you go booting him off the team...

I would not be hurt if they signed him. At worst he gets the Bailey treatment.

Re: WR Greg Jennings visiting Saints

Cool, nothing wrong with visiting. I sometimes visit people. Sometimes...

Anyway, I'm a little surprised by the enthusiasm of this potential signing. I guess I'll be in the minority today. He didn't seem like a guy who had much left before he went to Minnesota, and when he got there he did less than I expected. This would be someone to pick up if you're a desperate team looking to add a name. And as for locker room presence, that's all fine and good, but it really takes a lot of those guys to make a difference.

He might come in and make a few plays here and there, but we already have guys who can do that. I remember way back in 2000, when I was just a little too young to know better, I got all excited when we signed Jake Reed, because I knew he was a really good player for the Vikings. He was already washed up by this time, but I didn't follow other teams closely enough at that time to realize it. He looked like a dinosaur out there in the short time he played for us, and then broke his leg if I remember correctly.

I see Jennings in a similar mold.

How much money have the Saints paid him over the years for that one good season, then tremendously over paid him again? He would need a few more 1000 yard seasons at no pay just to earn the money he's already been paid.

You obviously cannot forgive the fact that he attended Alabama. Your bias is clearly clouding your judgment because Ingram has been outstanding when given the opportunity.

Two seasons.

Two different offensive staffs.

FOUR different QB's.

I don't care who you are, that sucks....

Similar to CJ Spiller (right system, better results) - if you pair Greg Jennings (who's already a premier route runner) with an elite QB (similar to Favre & Rodgers) you get better results.

How could anyone be upset with:
Cooks
Colston
Jennings
Toon
Morgan

Solid group of WRs.

He trashed Green Bay when he left and was underwhelming in Minnesota. That said, for the vets minimum, I'm open to taking a chance on anyone we feel could possibly contribute.

Sounds about right, but I could even agree he's "slightly" overpaid now, but definitely not by much. Certainly not enough to get a Tiger fan's panties all wadded up.:p
