Thats got me wondering... whats the main trait that differentiates slot CB versus perimeter CB?
I know perimeter CB's have the sideline to help, and usually cover the elite WR's but slot guys must be prepared for left/right/short/deep usually by a cat quick Lance Moore type who gets a head start before being engaged by a CB. And I wonder if it's really hard for a CB who played perimeter in college to adjust to playing the slot? I really have no idea. |

I would guess that short area quickness is probably the biggest reason as far as physical attributes go. Like you pointed out, the guys they're covering tend to be that type of player.
