Had the chance to watch him in the B1G and unfortunately, this is a lot of his best film work. He looked great against mediocre passing teams, but using a second round pick for him was fueled purely by optimism..... A whole bunch-o-optimism.

Two things jump right out to me when I read this..... 1. Brandon Coleman, and Stanley Jean Baptiste are basically the same guy draft wise so why did we waste a second round pick on him ( of course they may be proven right but that remains to be seen) ...... It comes off as a total mismanagement of last years draft if SJB doesn't make this team. I do think he will make the team, and make an impact... But I can't lie last years draft was a complete and utter disaster......

2. He's doing better with a trimmed down playbook, are they trying to say he was slow? He graduated from Nebraska, seems like a smart guy. IJS?

Browner can also teach as well. If SJB can be a contributor to our D, I want him around. Learn your playbook.

Let Dennis Allen work with this kid before we write him off :).

Jean-Baptiste is looking to make an impact. So are we.

SJB is also older than your average rookie (now second year player). That alone gives him less time to learn the nuances of playing outside press coverage in the NFL. Since the team is not going to play exclusively press, he also has to learn off man and any zone coverage schemes Ryan might choose to employ depending on the situation.

I agree with you. Allen will bring it out and Browner will help.

that or what does it say about Rob Ryan. this is a repeated story every where Rob has coached. Maybe Rob is light years ahead of times or maybe he is just a flake.

Myself i am just going to sit back watch and hope for the best. banking on the Allen effect.

Great, great point...

Really would like to have seen the decision-making that went into selecting this guy in the second round...
