New type of Mock Draft
Rules....
1. NO NAMES OF PLAYERS...ONLY POSITION... 2. TRADES DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE DETAILS AS TO WHAT WAS GIVIN...JUST PUT WHO TRADED WHAT PICK WITH WHO...AND IN WHAT PLACE 3. ONLY 1ST ROUND PICKS... 4. ONLY A BRIEF DESCRITION OF WHY THE PICK WAS MADE..NO NOVELS I think if we cut the fat away..and only think of position..and not neccesarily the names of who will be there..we may get a more accurate forecast of what will happen. Away we go... pick 1 - Tampa Bay - RB - (trade from SF)..San Fran will gladley trade down..and still have a top 5 pick...TB needs a RB..and they will get thier man... Gruden is in love with this kid (we will grow to hate him) ..and San Fran would be all to glad to get a freebie... pick 2 - Miami - QB - ...They will get Henry in FA..and be on thier way to a new team pick 3 - Browns - WR - Garcia came on strong..and turned some heads..he's still young enough to play good for a few more years..give him a big target..and watch em light up pick 4 - Bears - WR - Grossman could still be the next big thing in Chi town....if given some help....he could be the guy McNown was suppose to be pick 5 - San Francisco ( from TB) - QB - The rebuildng starts here...trade down a little..get your QB..and have a great foundation to start on...Genius..pure Genius pick 6 - Cardinals - (trade from Titans) - OT - Green knows ..Qb or not..thier O line was like a wet sack...They need this..and it will sting for a while..but..they will be better off for it..in the long run.. pick 7 - Raiders - LB - you know who..and you know why...and you know why they have to get this pick now..right now... pick 8 - Titans (from Cardinals) - DE - this will be a soild pick for these guys..they get the best D lineman in the draft...and they need it...who doesn't? pick 9 - Redskins - QB - They just have to..they bit the bullet too many times..and Gibbs will have to take this pick here pick 10 - Lions - CB - Mooch knows how to rebuild a D too..he had a good plan in SF..and he will pick up where he left off here... pick 11 - Cowboys - DE - Parcells..for whatever reason..hates rookie QB's...and he won't , in his mind, waste the top pick on a rookie QB..he just won't..besides..he has a good selection this year..he made the right moves last year in the Draft.. pick 12 - Chargers - WR - (from last years trade with the Giants) - - the fans will Boo..but..they need a big time WR to take the heat off the insurgent TE and RB pick 13 - Texans - OT - Carr needs the Help..the team will continue to get better... pick 14 - Panthers - O lineman - They will pick the best Lineman out there...like the Texans..they need it pick 15 - Chiefs - LB - I hope they make this pick..It would make sense..although..they too need help in the secondary..but..they need help stopping the run too.. pick 16 - Saints - S - Safety..that's right..we will get the best Safety in the draft..and we will be happy..at least for a while...since the best LB and CB are both gone..it only makes sense to get this pick now...and get the best player we can get, where we need it..in the backfield pick 17 - Bengals - DT - they have done well to get a decent Offense..and they will begin to focus on D now pick 18 - Vikings - CB..they just have to..they need a Cb so bad..it hurts...and though taking a WR might be tempting here..the need for D help will be too great.. pick 19 - Rams - DE - they have other needs..but..will be forced into taking the best talent..like we did..eat it..eat it..stew in it..I hate the Rams pick 20 - Dallas - (From last years trade with Buffalo) - QB..I know what I said earlier..I know..But..I also know the Jerry won't sit back and watch his team go down the tubes..not without a fight...and this is really going to be a good pick..Vinny is just too old..he's a fossil..and will fade out..and that's sad.. pick 21 - Green Bay - (from Jacksonville) - the Pack knows that Farve is leaving soon..and they will start to freak out..cuz all the QB's are bieng taken..and they will make a move here... pick 22 - Ravens - WR - ..This is no secret..they need this pick BAD... pick 23 - Seahawks - LB - since most of the QB's worthy of a 1st round pick are now gone..they will have to get the LB's situation straghtened out now... pick 24 - Jaguars - (from GB) - D lineman - Again..another team who have to take the best guy available..and..this pick will fit in..they're so damn lucky... pick 25 - Bronchos - TE - things just seem to always go right for these guys in the Draft...and this is the must have pick for them..and it will get handed to them..another team I truley hate pick 26 - Jets - DE - they will have to take the same route we did with Howard ( the smith pick)..insurance...it's a nice thing to have..and too tempting to ignore pick 27 - Atlanta - OT - again..filling a need..and doing it well.. Mora, ..like father ..like son..it makes me sick.. pick 28 - Chargers - OT - this was a hard one to decide...they could use more help on the O line... pick 29 - Colts - CB - wow..their D is Bad..in all areas, except DE..and this is a must ...they have little choice pick 30 - Steelers - DT - Just another example of how the rich keep getting rich...they get a great talent here..and continue to dominate up front pick 31 - Eagles - WR - Yes....the Pats are going to win..don't kid yourself. ..and the Eagles need an insurance policy..this is he best bet they have..unless they go big again in FA Pick 32 - CB - Does it really matter?...does it?...whoever they pick will come in looking like a 10 year vet..even with the loss of the coordinators..the King is still the King..and his Midas touch won't wear out just yet... anyways..that was fun...hope you guys can make some cool predictions..and have a little fun too..in this darkest of times... New type of Mock Draft
Didn\'t read anything but the 16th pick. Sorry to burst your bubble but it won\'t be a safety.
Actually the Cowboys pick makes absolutely no sense. Cowboys most pressing needs are at the DE and CB positions. They invested a nice amount of money and are not giving up on him after one year. Even if he\'s \"project.\" HA! *Cough* Mel Mitchell *Cough* [Edited on 1/2/2005 by papz] |

New type of Mock Draft
i only read to 16 too LOL
1. SF stuck, TB can get their man at 5. THE best player in the draft is a lb imo but niners make statement for rebuilding with franchise qb. 2. MIA i believe saban wants to build not revamp with trades. any of the top 3 rbs should be better than henry (you said his name LOL) and cap cheaper. 3. CLV garcia didnt work. he\'ll be a trainer like nyg situation. if not a franchise qb then best player. 4. CHI probably the most agreed upon talent available/need pick of early picks. 2 wrs stand clearly above the rest. which one? 5. TB just a matter of which aub rb 6. TN hard enough to make draft pick predictions muchless trades. arz is crazy on draft day so could be. i think they might if they want to get one of the top 3 rbs. otherwise TN here goes for T, LB, or CB (one rolle for another) 7. OAK this is a team that could get a veteranrb in trade or fa. otherwise it is the last of the top 3 rbs for the worst rushing team in the league. if any team trades for a well known minn wr i think it would be oak. 8. ARZ they could use help in many places. qb if one of top two fall, rb if one of top 3 falls. otherwise top stud, probably lb, cb, or t 9. WASH top defense only lacks a sacker. top qbs gone. shopping gardner, either of top two wr replaces. ot is a gibbs pick too tho (40 sacks in \'04) 10. DET gots ta be defense. highest impact player available lb or cb 11. DAL gets to pick top edge de, needed and available 12. SD could be a trader with two picks. wr here if one of top 2 are there but won\'t be. they need a sackmaster too unless they get one from no. 13. TEX pass rusher also needed 14. CAR ot if one of the top 2 are here, otherwise a replacement of lost weapon for delhomme at wr or te 15. KC most any kind of defensive help line or backs look more available here than backers 16. best safety or top dt pick in draft. 2nd or 3rd ranked cb probably available. ot would be a score if a top two fell. like wise #1 cb or lb. now i\'m thinking about #40 [Edited on 1/2/2005 by LKelley67] |

If any team was going to make this trade...it very well could be the Boys..Parcells LOVES veteran players..and both sides of the ball..and Howard is just the right kind of player to draw Bill\'s attention..but..How much will he ( and more importantly..Jerry Jones) be willing to part with to get him?
Every week during the regular season..Dallas has a talk show featuring Jones..sometimes Parcells...and they discuss things like this and all sorts of things..It\'s a pretty good show...and I can tell you..Jones is not a foolish owner..not that getting Howard in any way is foolish..but..He will only give what he is going to be worth potentially..Luckily for us..Howard led the team with 11 sacks...We stand a decent chance of a possible two 1st round picks this year or at the least...maybe getting a 1st rounder for next year....IF..HUGE IF..the Front Office can do some wheelin and dealin..and be flexible..to an extent...but..we still have to either franchise him..or sign him..or whatever..so..it\'s still up in the air right now.. |

You have a DE with the first pick... that\'s straight... but what about a corner... Newman was only good his first year and who\'s going to start opposite him this year... QB, you\'ve got to be joking me... too many needs on defense to draft a qb in which you can get a solid qb in the second or third round...
I will get you Saints tickets if they draft a qb in the first round... that\'s how confident I am... THEY WILL NOT draft a qb in the first round... gave up too much for Henson and paying him a decent amount of cash... they will draft defense first and then if offensive, a wide receiver... I will bet anything on that.... |
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.
All little common sense goes a long way. |

You actually proved my point in Henson... Jones is not a foolish owner and he was the one who wanted Henson... so why would he draft a QB... you have got to be retarded to draft a qb in the first round unless it\'s Smith or Rodgers...
Why would Jones trade for Howard when he has 2 first round picks to fill his needs? Makes no sense... [Edited on 1/2/2005 by papz] |

i\'d like a first but i think a 2nd is more realistic for howard. so for dallas to get a proven product- the kind parcells likes and still have 2 firsts to go for a cb and another impact player makes sense to me. they had to be pleased with the last saint lineman they got.

New type of Mock Draft
The Cowboys didn\'t give up too much for Henson, not by a long shot..they dealt Houston a 3rd round pick..and signed Henson to an 8 year deal..for about 3.5 million with incentives..and the Cowboys have the option of voiding out at 4 years...
Here\'s a link http://ps2.sportsline.com/nfl/story/7181413 He only makes the League minimum right now..and he hasn\'t gotten enough time to even come close to any sort of incentive bonuses.. Now..on to your next point... Dallas needs a DE.we both agree on that...Why wouldn\'t they give up a first round pick to get Howard?..he led the team in sacks...and is still under 30...He is the prototype Parcells kind of guy... They might not give up the highest 1st round pick, I would be happy with thier later 1st round pick..and we may have to give them a 4th rounder ( or close to there ) as well..but..it would be worth it... I don\'t see many other teams with the kind of options Dallas has... and , Parcells just isn\'t fond of Rookies...It makes sense to me |
