METAIRIE, La. -- The New Orleans Saints' Cameron Jordan didn’t even wait for the questions to be asked as he walked into a throng of reporters. He knew the storyline already.
“Hi, I’m Cam Jordan. I’ve had a tremendous two weeks,” said the charismatic 25-year-old, who signed a five-year, $55 million contract extension on June 2, then welcomed his first child, son Caleb, on June 11. “I’m not sure which triumphs there,” said Jordan, because he said the contract is basically for Caleb. “Now he’ll have a better life, and I’m grateful toward God and blessed to be part of my family and blessed to be a part of the Saints.” Now it’s Jordan’s job to keep this ball rolling in the right direction. Because the former first-round draft pick and 2013 Pro Bowler was also riding a pretty good wave last year before he and the rest of the Saints’ defense took an unexpected dip during last year’s 7-9 collapse. Re: Saints' Cam Jordan has had 'tremendous two weeks,' needs to keep it going
The anticipation of what Jordan and Gallette were going to provide the defense last year was a severe disappointment. Lets see if the bodies do what the mouth says they will do.

I think we all think he has upper echelon potential. Maybe this year he puts it all together and becomes one of the best DEs in the league. That sure would help our D and our ailing secondary.

Is he worth that money or is that what any would have to pay to keep a player like him?
it seems that there are many non elite players making elite money. |

His contract is about right for his production. He didn't look all that good last year but his numbers were pretty solid. We just need to keep him motivated and healthy. He'll play better with an improved secondary.
